The Alley

Bradien learned early on, after leaving the blacksmith's, that people would not like him for several reasons, or they would befriend him only to steal his money. At this time, he trusted no one. His assumed friends betrayed him, he felt as if the only father he knew had betrayed him, and his biological mother most definitely did. As he stay in the Alley of Bree, he met a young girl with beautiful long strawberry blonde hair, and deep green eyes. A diamond amongst all the filth, Maywyn was born a rat, yet it was obvious that she should have better. Deserved better. Her personality was too lovely for one who had been given so little. And maybe that's why he loved her. She was happy with what she had, and in that made Brad realize he should love the family he had for they loved him. Though he would never admit to it. Things were lovely for the two of them, Brad promised marriage and cozy home just outside of Bree. It seemed like a dream for him, to have such a lovely girl, and to be happy with enough money in his pockets to feed the both of them... Even if that meant someone else could afford to feed themselves and their loved ones. They loved one another and were content for the time being. Brad, the dear, had saved up his money from small robbery jobs and pick pocketing to buy May a better dress than the mess she wore normally. He brought the emerald green dress to her, and of course she loved it. Though it may have been considered a bit much for just everyday, Maywyn didn't care. At this point both May and Brad were about sixteen, and May was at the peak of her beauty. After constant pleading from Bradien, May washed the dress and kept her face clean so he might see what she would really look like in it. Sadly, Brad chose the wrong day to ask this of her, for a rich man who often came to the alley every two months or so to take women to a brothel that he owned. And on this day, May was taken from Bradien. The rich man looked at Brad who had been pushed to the floor with disgust. The poor man smiled broadly, showing his few rotting teeth as he began to beat and cut Brad. He slashed once across his lips, leaving the cut that is the scar people see today. The man left Bradien unconscious and batter half to death. He was bleeding heavily, and was brought back to the old blacksmith by some of his friends.... (To be continued)
