Mhel's musings - 2

I saw him again today. I was surprised to find him in town so soon after my warning, but as it turns out everything is fine. Both he and his lady are safe and well, the crisis seemingly past, for the moment. He gave me a token of his appreciation: a beautiful little horse trinket wrought in silver. I almost could not bring myself to take it from him. Such rich gifts are not for folk as simple as I, but his gift was in thanks for what I had told him so how could I refuse without causing offence? He spoke of the danger behind my actions, of how I could easily have come to some harm based on my choice to tell him of what I had heard. He did not seem to understand that my peril was minimal in comparrison to his. The people I heard talking, they did not know that I had heard them, they were unaware that I took their words to Yarassi and Flannery. If they did not know, then they could not seek retribution from me and even if they had, I have my fair share of protectors. I like to think of myself as a good woman, for that is what my mother, bless her soul, brought me up to be. Being so, how then could I keep my silence knowing that a good man and his lovely lady were endangered? The simple answer is that I could not and nor would I! I saw her too, briefly. She truly is a stunning creature and I can see why any man would seek her hand. I found her attitude to be a little condescending, but then who can blame her? A woman blessed with both looks and skill is bound to look down on a dowdy old maid like me, is she not? Enough of that, though. What is done is done and all can be forgiven. In other news, my Lady Jenn sent me to Bree yestereve with a few messages. Miss Cymaru seemed in good spirits as she recieved hers, but Khyron, my lady's uncle, reacted with panic. It would seem he took my lady's greeting to mean that she had birthed her child ahead of schedule, but I quickly disabused him of that notion. We talked some and he turned out to be a nice, if somewhat strange, fellow with two young children of his own.
