The Troll's Tankard ~ A song from Fullbridge.

The following is a song that has been passed down through three generations in the village of Fullbridge. It tells the story of a wandering troll that became trapped under the bridge, over the years it has likely been changed. It remains one of Fullbridge's favourite song and tale, though there is much debate on how legitimate the actual story is. The song 'The Troll's Tankard' is also the namesake for the village tavern, owned by Odvil Appleark.

The Troll's Tankard

Once to the south, under a bridge.

There came a fat troll, oh! The people just hid.

Under he went, and stuck was his head.

He wished to be free, he wished for his bed.

Oh, he waited and he screamed, for hours and hours.

The folks prodded and pushed, he was fixed like a tower.

‘Till a patron came forth, holding his flagon.

The troll wheeled out, just like a wagon.

The drunkard recoiled, wanting his ale.

The troll went on, with a great awful wail.

Oh, he wailed and he screamed, for hours and hours.

The folks prodded and pushed, he was fixed like a tower.

‘Till the patron came forth, holding his flagon

The troll wheeled out, just like a wagon.

The drunkard handed it over, laughing and smiling.

The troll went on home, there was no more crying.
