Things are starting to look in good shape once again at The Floating Log, repairs to the roof have taken longer than expected but the inside of the Inn is now free of dust sheets and the final layers of paint have dried.
A complete clean of all the mugs and plates took several days and many of the old stools and chairs were replaced for new. The new position here at The Floating Log means an awful lot less fetching and carrying and more time spent with the customers. I still have to run a few errands occasionally and it was on one such trip that I ended up in the Green Dragon.
Barmy Rootknot, the owner of the Green Dragon had lent Ponto some old kegs and I was to take back a selection of our food to Alken Chubb in return. When I entered the Inn I was greeted with a great din of music and dancing, which apparently is a regular event on a Friday. Not all the music was quite so loud, in one corner a nice lad by the name of Smeric was playing some exquisite music but was being completely ignored by the rest of the Inn.
I suggested that he come play at The Floating Log, where we are a little more refined and laid-back. He jumped at the chance and we were both soon back at The Floating Log and his music was enjoyed by all the customers. I shall have to ask him if he would like to play more regularly.

Smeric performs his "Drinking Song" in The Floating Logs cosy snug bar......

....and even performs a few Elven songs that go down very well with the regulars.
