Long did the battle last, and many expecting to have lived through the they did not see the light of the sun again, but eventually remembering the tales of fighting drakes in the past, the dwarves and elves aswell saw a chance to pierce the belly of the monstrosity.

A lucky javelin stucked in there, and the beast wailed in pain and anger, then the dwarvish lords jumped forth from the fire and with those nearest to them they cut it's belly open completely, .. the beast spasmed untill it's last breath and there the battle was won, covered in smelling blood or lying on the ground with burned wounds, so was the victory and protection of Thrain's Vale assured that day.
