What an occasion that was, it is not often I have entered the Dwarrow realms but suffice to say the Hall of Thorin was a sight to behold. Amorith, Cirionar and I participated in the 3rd Ting of the West, our hosts were the Folk of Durin.
I have already written a lengthy report to Hirgonui, but I feel compelled to write into this diary while the memories are fresh. Upon arriving we were warmly greeted and shown through to the great hall with other Eldar from the House of Vanimar and the Laquendi Order. Once arriving at the place of meeting it was quite the spectacle, Perian in good numbers to our left Kins of men to our right and in front the Folk of Durin in martial order.
The meeting was chaired by Master Kandral of the Folk of Durin, he bid us all welcome and insisted that we enjoy their hospitality, ale, Wine and more food than I have seen since passing through the Shire. Most interestingly was the unusual and rare sight of two female Dwarrow whom served us with a politely courtesy.
Discussions were had concerning the threats to each land and the Shadows from the East, Kandral was direct to us and bid us to work closer in Ered Luin, we agreed, though the details of how will be worked out in near future I am sure.
Eldar spoke of a need for unity in Rivendell to which all seemed in passive agreement but nothing formal was set, I know this is something dear to Lord Khalis of the Warband, I hope something further will come of it. It was fair to say not everyone was in agreement on what to do, but it was clear the needs are now more pressing than ever.
Reports from the Perian and the Kin’s of Men spoke of dire news in their lands whether hidden or more open, one thing was clear, the enemy moves and with more haste.
A good thing to come of all the discussions was the agreement to share scout reports across the various lands and provinces, the names of the representatives were taken and will be dually contacted.
Whence the meetings were concluded we had the good fortune to meet with the Folk of Durin and extend our respect and good wishes to them. I sense it was well received and hope of good things to come.
These are unusual and hopeful times folk seem more eager to put aside differences and find common ground, perhaps old alliances can be re-forged? Of this I know not yet.
