The Hobbit Hero - A Peom

In our hour of trouble, who do we need?
An adventurous hobbit on a very big steed
Who'll ride out the bounds at very high speed
Just sit round the fire and watch that hobbit go
And sing of the deeds of the hobbit hero!

A pack full of pies, a sword in their hand
They pass the Brandywine, in to furrin lands
Through valleys of stone and wastelands of sand
Brigands may chase, and stones they may throw
But they bounce off the shield of the hobbit hero!

So many strange things the hero will see
Like goblins and orcs as tall as tall trees
And boats shaped like swans, and mountains of cheese
The hero rides on, there's no time to go slow.
Through magical places rides the hobbit hero!

The hero soon arrives in a land far away
Where goblins guard gold all night and all day
It is certainly no place for a hobbit to stay
Unsaddle that pony, it's time for the show
Battles to be fought by the hobbit hero!

Their arms be short, but strong is their swing
Spears are thrust; daggers cut and sting
Hear howls of terror as the hero's sword sings
Goblins flee quickly from the force of such blows
And victorious stands the hobbit hero!

The hero is gifted with many fine rewards
A helmet with wings, a shiney gold sword
And pies and cakes fit for the greatest of Lords
Taking the gifts, the hero bows down low
As Elven Princes applaud the hobbit hero

And the hero returns, back to The Shire
With their heroic tale that greatly inspires
All the hobbits that sit around the warm fire
The hero stands tall, basking in the warm glow
All hail the hero! Hail the hobbit hero!
