Writing something was never my preferred choice, always did reading seem like the better end of a piece of lore. For now i shall keep this book as a small place to write down anything that might occur, or otherwise be of interest in the future.
The last few days I spent on the road, riding hard for Imladris, seeking counsel and respite from the many burdens and hard-made decisions. My beloved is still seeking the counsel of the peace of mind, and I shall not disturb her. In a way it is understandable, surely in these troubled times we would indeed have little time for a child... Yet what a delight it would be, and how much joy it would indeed bring us before the encroaching darkness. Still, a child is not to be spoilt by evil, and hardly would I wish for it to bear witness to the darkness that now spreads across the lands. Alas, I gave my love my thoughts, and she certainly values my word.
On another note, I did have the pleasure of seeing Lady Rildheldiel today. Alas her mind seemed troubled, and asking her about it, she reveals that she is searching for a long-lost uncle of hers. In a way I know how it must feel, certainly my family have long since perished, but atleast I know what caused their untimely end. She does not know the fate of her uncle and is most eager to find out. Even if she might not like the result, which is commendable. She intends to travel to Lothlorien, by Eregion and Moria, It will be a path filled with many dangers, perhaps moreso then I let her know of. Nevertheless, it is the wish of my beloved to safeguard those close to her, as such I pledged to join her on her journey. She seemed in a way to apperciate my company. After some discussion, she invited to a training session.
By the waterfalls, we sparred, and I learned much about her from her fighting. She has a fine grasp of the sword I gave her. A good stance, but she needs to stand better. yet her weakness lies in inexperience.Sadly she were easily disarmed, and potentially easy prey for ambushes and unexpected events. While she will need much training, there is hope for her, for I can tell she wishes greatly to find out about her Uncle. Her determination to become a better fighter is commendable, and will certainly be crucial to her training. Before anything, she must overcome her fear and emotions that may take hold during combat. Fear, guilt, bloodlust, anger, hate, sorrow... If they take control over her, she might very well perish, along with those that she desires to protect. She decided to meditate about it. I hope my words or actions were not too hard on her. Nevertheless, our enemies give us no quarter, thus she will have to learn to control her mind, even in the heat of combat...
After the sparring, I made my way to the library of Lord Elrond, always do i feel home here among the books, whose content can still both amaze and scare me. I sat down on a bench to read, and most of the evening went into studying.
Alas my mind is tired and needs rest, Perhaps I shall go to my place near the waterfalls, bring a book, and read it alone under the beautiful night.
