The Ferngrove’s, a somewhat elusive family, one which is little known to Joy. Her mother spoke little of her brother; in fact the mere mention of such would bring her to quieten. For what reason Joy does not know, though she has begun an active search for such family members who bear the name.

The scholar’s stair, an enviable place for the lass, filled with books and scrolls; the largest collections she of Bree has ever seen, and vastly surpassing her own. The fact that the books she owns are of most value then of anything else in her rather small and ragged homestead, brings her to some pride, though she knows it comes to nothing.

But alas, the winding building of Bree has brought her many a comfort in the short time she gets from the bar, rummaging through books Mister Leafcutter prepares her. He often aids her in small capacity, looking over whichever archives may display valued information upon the wed or child bearing of the Ferngrove family.

Little has been found, save for Ada’s brother’s apparent demise, unfortunately showing signs of similar misfortune and apparent hereditary illness. Though Newbold insists she continues her search, she suspects he is beginning to enjoy secondary payment of lunches from the Pony, and perhaps a slight discount of ale. Though, indeed it could be plainly put, that she needs to be kept occupied. The ebb and flow of patrons to the Pony means day’s worth of a silent inn, with little else to do but clean till a glimmer appears in the dullest of wood or; a sudden incursion of demanding patrons, wanting only the best, and in quick sharp service. Resulting in what can best be described as, a rushing off the feet…
