Tseh... raining, again. Cedholnir of Rivendell thought as he walked along an muddy road towards Hobbiton. His dark green hooded cloack's end wagged in the wind as he walked... finaly he could see the small hobbit cave like houses from the distance. With an relieved sigh he began to run towards the town. Once he arrived to the town he was greeted by three bounders and one bounder captain... Dylan Haslefoot.
Dylan was an hobbit with short brown hair, green eyes and pepper'ish will to fight. Dylan raised his arm and waved to Ced as he walked towards the welcoming committee. '' My good friend Cedholnir! It is so good to see you! '' Dylan shouted and offered an handshake which Ced gladly shook.
'' Like wise Dylan, like wise... now shall we go to your office? '' Ced asked, though he wanted to get some sort of an shelter from this annoying rain. He did actually like the rain but not constant rain... deffinetely if it has rained for two days straight. Dylan nodded and began to escort Ced to his office. '' Right this way my elf friend... oh and watch your. '' He managed to say as they entered the office, his sentence was interupted by Ced's groan as he bumbed his head to the ceiling. '' Ow! ''
'' Eehh... nevermind. '' Dylan finished and tried to hold his laugh. Other bounders went to contniue their paper work but Ced and Dylan went to Dylans office. Dylan jumped on his chair and sighed with an rather worried tone and took an serious expression. '' Ced... I've called you here becouse you are the only one who I could reach now a days. '' Dylan explained, Ced gave an nod and motioned with his hand to continiue. '' I didnt have much time to tell you about the situation in the letter... right now we have giant problem. '' He said.
Ced raised his eye brow and looked at Dylan. '' Ehh, giant in shire? '' He asked. '' Aye... we have managed to hold that foul creature in Bindboul Woods, but we are growing tired, soon that creature will overwhelm our bounders and proceed to destroy the shire. '' Dylan explained.
Ced didnt like what he heard... not at all. He crossed his arms and pondered. '' Alright... since it's this serious, we should move out right now, and then find out who released this giant. '' Ced suggested, Dylan nodded in agreement. '' I hoped you would say that, since I've ran out of cheese and brandy, bad days. '' Dylan said and jumped off from his chair, walking over to an cabin and openened it, it was an small armoury just perfect for little hobbit like Dylan.
Dylan grabbed his light armour, short sword and an small buckler. After arming himself he walked over to Ced and snapped his fingers. Those other three bounders walked into the room fully armed just like Dylan, heh... paper work. '' Let us set forth and bring down this monster! '' Dylan said and bounders cheered. Ced grinned and nodded. This small party left the office and soon they were hiking towards Binboul Woods, where situation went horribly wrong by each minute. Giant was already causing havoc on local bounder camp site in the woods, smashing and throwing poor hobbits around. Giant grabbed an long log of wood and used it as an makeshift mace.
Giant was about to squish last four bounders with that log of wood but suddenly, an glowing silver arrow flew from the woods, landing perfectly on giants right shoulder. Giant stumbled backwards from the silver arrows force and drooled as he tried to locate the shooter. More arrows rained towards the giant as Dylan and three bounders rushed out from an bush to save the other four bounders. Now they had an small strike force that could have a chance against the giant. Ced was busy shooting arrows from an tree. Giant suddenly let out an loud roar that shook the ground, he threw his ''mace'' towards the tree where Ced was.
'' Oooh great! '' Ced sighed and dropped down to lower branch, just in time since that log of wood just went through the whole tree. Ced gasped out as he saw what the log did, he was quite thankfull that he landed on the lower branch, if he wouldnt he would be in two pieces. He jumped down and shot couple arrows towards the giant. The bounders charged towards the giant as it was stumbling backwards again becouse of the arrow barrage. Bounders managed to swing some cuts and wounds on the giants feet, making it to yell out... which was an bad move becouse it want on berzerk.
'' DYLAN! Get away from it... DYLAN! '' Ced shouted but it was too late. Giant kicked two bounders somewhere into the woods... they never had an chance. Other bounders were horrified and demoralized from this move, vitnesing their fellow comrades death... just like that. Ced placed his bow on his back and drew his spear with his right hand and unsheathed his sword with his left hand and charged towards the giant. Giant stomped on three bounders, killing them instantly, leaving only Dylan, two other bounders and Ced remaining.
Ced was almost ready to perform his three point combo attack until the giant roared out again. Making Ced and bounders to stumble back from that powerfull roar. Giant used this moment for it's advantage and rammed it's fist onto the ground... smashing Dylan. Ced's eyes went wide as he saw Dylan being squished like an bug, he gritted his teeth together and screamed out. '' YOU FOUL CREATURE! '' Ced charged... other bounders reached their limit and escaped.
Giant tried to do the same, trying to squish Ced with his fist. He rammed the fist on the ground but Ced jumped aside. Right before giant managed to raise his hand again, Ced was running along the giants arm towards its head. '' You'll pay for this! '' He yelled out and gathered all the strenght what he could into his legs charged, his spear aimed right between giants eyes. Loud *Schwing* Echoed through the woods as Ced's spear impaled the giants head. Giant groaned and drooled as Ceds spear penetrated through its brain, shortly... the giant died and was about to fall.
Ced yanked his spear off and jumped off as the giant fell. He panted hard as he looked at the battleground. He let out an sigh and walked back towards Michel Delving, just few minutes ago, Ced lost his old and dear friend Dylan and other bounder friends. He walked with the other two survived bounders back to their headquarters.
They wrote letters to the fallen ones families and loved ones, sending the heartbreaking news. But at least... shire was safe. One of the bounders that ''survived'' came to Ced and handed him an cup of tee. '' I'm sorry Ced... I-if we could just been more... '' Bounder said but Ced interupted. '' Dont blame yourself... what has happened is happened, right now... rebuild and concentrate on finding that giants origin. '' Ced said. The bounder nodded, trying to cheer up but the cloud of sorrow was still above his head.
'' I'll send word to second lieutenant and third squad captain about the news... we are most gratefull from your help, elf-friend. '' Bounder said, despite from the heavy losses, Ced managed to get on the bounders good side. He nodded and managed to smile warmly. '' I'll be visiting my friends... checking how your operations are doing. '' He said and stood up, heading towards to the door. '' Where are you going? '' Bounder asked. Ced stopped and looked at the hobbit. '' Home. '' He said and left the ''house''. Few days later he finaly arrived back to kinhouse, he was slightly on better mood, thinking that Dylan and others were now in better place.
He was about to open the doors of the kinhouse but suddenly stopped. An ice cold chill slithered along his spine. He breathed deepl and hard, coldness swallowing his heart. He gulped as that dark aura grew stronger... more stronger and closer behind his back. He closed his eyes and gathered his strenght and quickly turned around and armed his bow, pointing towards the source of the aura but flinched on what he saw... nothing. There was just nothing. '' What the... '' Ced said and looked around, it was morning and sun was rising in the horizon. Even his elven eyes couldnt spot this dread behind the trees or from the tall grass, but there was something. He shot an silvery glowing arrow into the trees, an soft growl echoed and the dead slowly slithered away. Ced gritted his teeth together, his heart pounding like mad from this unpleasant sensation. He slowly managed to walk to the woods, sun rising and litting the area. He didnt find his arrow but... he only could find an small trail of blood. He looked at this trail of blood and gulped... there really was something. He shook his head and put his bow to his back and entered the kinhouse.
