Outward Appearance

Tidhelm is a man past his prime, yet not past his usefulness. His bones are starting to become brittle and much of the man's former strength have been lost thanks to the tearing of time and live in less than comfortable conditions. Yet this once sturdy Eorling still stands  at about 5' 5" (1.65m) and is still hale enough to wield a blade. His complexion is rather weather worn thanks to a youth of being out in the fields of Rohan and the many wrinkles on his face do not improve the sight of the man. His hair is kept rather neatly on his shoulders and a large mustache adorns his upper lip, going all the way towards his cheeks and eventually back under his hair. His eyes still seem sharp and have a nice blue colour, them being the only aspects of him that did little age over time.

All of his clothing would be well fitting and sturdy of make, yet none would be overly excessive for his station.

Background

Little is known or remembered about Tidhelm's youth, yet what is known is that he was born in a farm near the small town of Walstow, in the Sutcrofts of the Maerc. When he left the homestead as a young man, he roamed from dwelling to dwelling all over the land, trying to find work as a blade for hire and protector of caravans. One could only wonder how such a man of little stature came to the Eorlsmead to make a name for himself, yet he has been a local to the area for over thirty years now.

At first he was but a Wigend in the Éored of Stangard who did his duty willingly yet not exceptional, yet before any would deem him able or ready, he was rising through the ranks in the forsaken borders of Rohan until he became the Commander of the Eorlsmead Tower till he was considered a part of the stonework itself. He brought in local herders and and hunters to fill the garrison of the wayward tower and make the tower more suitable as an outpost that could stand on its own if it had to.

The men that serve under him show a great deal of loyalty to him, yet because his gaze is not turned far from his doorstep, he is a rather unimportant figure in the hierarchy of the region, and the tower itself is only being called upon as a resting spot and resupply station for the more active éoreds for its location does not border any of the direct enemies of the Maerc during the peaceful days that were. Yet those days seem to have passed.
