Background
Fundinul Blacklock, as his name suggests, has his ancestry running back to the Blacklocks of the Red Mountains far to the east of the Iron hills and Mordor. The Blacklocks were renowned makers of fine jewellery and it was these skills that lead many of them to migrate to the other dwarf halls where their skills were needed to complete many of the kingdoms finest artefacts. It was not however the need for craftsman that brought Fundinuls ancestors to the great dwarf halls of Khazad-Dum. Fundinuls Grandfather arrived at Khazad-Dum with a contingent of dwarves from the Iron Hills led by Nain son of Gror. During the Battle of Azanulbizar Fundinul's Grandfather was one of those that fought along side the great dwarf lord Fundin, and it was as a mark of respect and admiration for Fundins heroic efforts that the name Fundinul (Khuzdul-Son of Fundin) was passed down to his son and grandson. Fundinul has a great fondness for the ancient artefacts and stories of his race and he continued the Blacklock tradition for finely crafted artefacts and gem cutting. He also spends many hours translating runes and rewriting many of the ancient manuscripts that contained the history of the dwarves. Many of these rescued documents are old tales of great feats of bravery and endurance of dwarf heroes. Fundinul would often recite these at gatherings in one of the many Inns at Thorins Halls. Great cheers would ring out as Fundinul spoke of the deaths of enemies and solemn silences would fall on the Inn when a great warrior fell in battle. When news came that the halls of Khazad-Dum were once again opened and that many treasures may still lay undiscovered Fundinul leapt at the opportunity to go and recover the priceless artefacts made by the hands of his ancestors.
