Ledal was born in Minas Tirith, the son of a barmaid and a soldier. He would spend his childhood days looking at the Guards of the Citadel, admirering their weapons, armour and dicipline. When he became 10 years old, he joined the army, and started to train, and seven years later he was a part of the Gondorian light infantry. His group specialized in ambushing the enemy, and moving fast across terrain. A few years later an elite-troop of these soldiers were made, and Ledal was one of them. His loyalty, and will to fight, distinguished him from many else. Durin the battle of Osgiliath, Ledal's group fought hard, and when the orcs were pushed back, the captain lead them across the Anduin in his eager. They followed a group of orcs far across the Anduin, when they were ambushed by an Uruk and more orcs. The Uruk carried a big blade, and killed several, and wounded Ledal. They would all have died, hadn't Rangers of Ithilien been right behind them, and attacked the Uruk. Ledal and the four other surviving members of the group was taken back to Minas Tirith, though one died from wounds on the way back. It took months, but Ledal survived, but he seemed to still be sick. He was often cold, and seemed to shake, sometimes more than others. Some spoke of foul sorcery, others suggested poison, and some few even said he was cursed (though few believed that, of course) In the end, he was discharged. Ledal spent weeks in a tavern in Minas Tirith, but in the end he couldn't take it anymore. His childhood dream was broken, and his body and mind seemed to be ruined. He travelled to see the world, and spent time in Dale and Rohan, and in the end he wanted to settle in Eriador. But Eriador wasn't peaceful, and once again he took up his weapons, to join the army.
