Clad in silver and the hue of the moon, Tarnairë earned the by-name Celedhel, the Silver Elf. She honors that name, keeping true to always wear something of silver; may it be a ring, a necklace or a mere thread of the argent metal woven into her attire.
   Her face is evenly and shows no sign of age, her eyes are silver.
   Celedhel wears her hair woven into a single braid, like a golden tow, or open and falling as it chooses.

Background

»This bow, greater than I, both in size and in craft.
It was given into my custody by the fortress on the river Narog;
And it is not quite forgotten yet, I believe.«

- Tarnairë and her Bow

As child of Finrod's people she was born in Nargothrond and although of the Ñoldor she bore bright golden hair. Still young of years, Tarnairë hearkened to the stories of her mother and one she loved especially: Of how sun and moon came into being. She loved the tale so greatly that she sang to the moon and to Tilion whenever Tarnairë saw him on the sky and when he was gone, she wept.
      In the elder days, Tarnairë served her people as warden upon the plains of the Talath Dirnen, safe-guarding the road north to the land of Brethil and Doriath.
    After the Fall of Beleriand the Elf traveled Middle-Earth, walked over mountains and into Greenwood, the Great, even came upon the deserts of Harad in time, where she freed a slave and helped him to become a warrior.
   Recently she returned to Mithlond and into the lands of the Ered Luin. There she serves as messenger between the city of Círdan, Imladris and Lóthlórien.
