| Outward Appearance | Before you stands a youth full of vigour and enthusiasm, a spritely fellow by all account who would happily talk, sing and recite poetry to you until the dawn chorus comes. Ardyn would seem fair to most, with long copper coloured hair tied back into a neat ponytail matched with a nicely kempt stubble upon his lower face. His eyes are deep shade of blue and his complexion is untarnished by age or misadventure. He is of reasonable height and healthy weight, with some degree of muscle about him but by no means imposing in that aspect. His dress sense is usually agreeable, wearing no armour but casual cloth and leathers chiefly bright in colour. Aside from the lute that he often carries upon his back, he wears a smallsword on his belt accompanied by a dagger. Although he may not appear violent, he is sufficiently skilled in the art of swordplay and a dab hand in fencing. Overall, Ardyn is someone whom you would probably find some comfort in sharing company with. Nevertheless, not everything about him is what it seems, and those of a more suspicious nature would sense something quite off about the vizard Ardyn chooses to present. |

Background
Tall tales shroud Ardyn, carefully crafted to mask his background and history from others. Whilst one person might say he is from Bree-land, another would say Gondor. No one knows for certain where Ardyn hails from, but the mystery and uncertainty that surrounds him he certainly uses to his advantage. What is known at the very least is that he became prominent in Bree several years ago, spending most of his days drinking and merrymaking in the Prancing Pony Inn. His true profession is also unknown, as he would introduce himself as a simple poet and nothing more. His general presentation however would suggest a man of means, however far from nobility.
There are some in Bree who have come to dislike Ardyn, their reason being twofold. The first might be because he owes them a gambling debt, the other because of some form of slight or insult that he has unwittingly made. He is, however, quite gifted at talking his way out of tricky situations using charm and even humour as a weapon to quench the flames. Gambling is his vice and has caused him many problems as a result, but he is more than capable of taking care of himself as an accomplished duellist.
At present, Ardyn remains within the public eye as cheerful and jovial fellow, situated in the township of Bree. So, should you encounter the man on your travels, why not pull up a chair and listen to a poem or song? But word to the wise, should he present you with a pair of dice or try and persuade you into a game of cards, I would approach the gesture with extreme caution…
