WORK IN PROGRESS

The information below is what your character may know or have gleaned upon first meeting the man, it is public knowledge and is free to use in Roleplay.

Characteristics:

Name: - Wilder

Race: - Man

Apparent Age: - Early forties

Height: - 6 feet 6 Inches
Build: - Wirey and lean, with long legs and broad at the shoulder
Hair Colour: - Dark brown-black
Hair Style: - Long and free flowing
Eye Colour: - A pale flinty grey

Voice: - Deep and measured

First Impressions:

A tall weather-worn man in threadbare clothes. His equipment is functional and plain and almost purposefully unremarkable. He carries all the trappings of one used to wandering the wilds. A dark wooden bow and quiver rest upon his back, and at his side sits a well made but unadorned longsword. His face, largely covered by a thick hood is pale, and perhaps once handsome, but now seems haggard and weather beaten by a hard life of wandering.

When he speaks (of which he does little) his voice is even and hushed. You get the feeling that perhaps this is not due to any shyness or timidity, but is instead an affectation. Despite his passive mien his eyes are remarkably hard, keen and perceptive and and a cold fire burns in their stony depths. When lost in thought, a deep sadness can sometimes be perceived about the man, as one who is haunted by his past.

Demeanor:

The man speaks in a very calm and un-threatening manner, his voice a deep gravel with a cultured cadence. Those who try to place his accent would have some difficulty, it is not the thick accent of a Bree-lander, nor the hard accent of one of the hill folk. He is always cordial and polite, and seems interested in what people have to say. The Hobbits of the North Farthing who know him have grown to enjoy his visits. For one of the big folk he seems to be very interested in Hobbit comings and goings and will happily listen to tales from the Shire.

He mainly sticks to himself when in towns, happy to sit quietly in a darkened corner of the Prancing Pony, cup in hand. Rumours abound in Bree that he is one of those wanderers known as Rangers, and the folk there are wary of him.

Wardrobe:

Wilder wears battered and mud caked clothes in the muted greens, browns and greys of the forest. His attire, though designed to be hardy and functional, is patched in places with clear signs of repair.

Upon his torso he wears a brown leather jerkin fastened with thongs. A simple leather belt holds it firm about his waist. Under that, he wears grey, simple, thick woolen trousers and a shirt. Battered leather gloves and vambraces protect his hand and wrists and upon his feet he wears high, worn leather boots. The most striking part of his outfit is the large, heavy hooded cloak he wears. It is a muted dark forest green and made from thick wool. So large is it that it can be pulled around so that it covers him front to back in inclement weather.

About his person he carries all the items needed to survive in the wild. Pouches, waterskins, whetstones, blanket, tinder box and other accoutrements. They are all strapped close and secured so that they don't hinder his movement.

Jewelry:

The man is unadorned for the most part. If you are perceptive, you may notice two exceptions:

First, upon his left index finger, he wears a ring that barely shines under the grime and dirt. It is a silver signet ring, but strangely, the face is turned inwards towards his palm.

The second is a well-made silver brooch fastening his cloak at the left shoulder. It takes the form of a seven-rayed star. It looks old and well-worn.

Weapons:

 A Place Holder
