There is a hobbit writing a certain book about a certain adventure. His pipe in his mouth, his candles lit, his thoughts thinking, and the ink dripping onto the paper that reads:

"...during dinner, the Company and Bilbo met various members of Elrond's house, and the hobbit, who had never met an elf before, soon discovered that the elves were very different in kind: some of them were as joyous as children, and some as regal and noble as kings of old.
The elf sitting next to Bilbo was one of the latter and he introduced himself as Haerelben, and no title or surname was given to Bilbo to use to address them. The hobbit was starting to think that elves either didn't care about such things, or more likely, they were not used to not being recognized immediately."

"He was tall among the Quendi and firm like a tree, with fair skin and gray eyes as the clearest pebbles of the clearest river. A subtle light emanated from him, up from the crown around his head - which Bilbo could venture to guess was made of metal and glass- down to the inner silver robes under his midnight blue clothes. He wore his hair loose, flowing down to mid-back, braided and adorned with blue gemstones, and its color was..."

Now, here is where the hobbit hesitates...

'What color was his hair? 'he murmur '...blonde? I can't just leave it like this. It would be a disgrace to all descriptions.'

He groaned and tugged at his hair.

'I can't describe it as "strawberry blonde" either! I can't use that word to describe an elf lord. I would die of indignity if they found out!' he exclaimed.

Whining to himself, the hobbit takes another piece of paper and continues writing, hoping to find the right words later.

"... He was kind in their conversation and very polite, but Bilbo didn't see them smile even once. Later in his stay, he would discover that the elf lord found joy in surprising wandering and distracted hobbits who were strolling through the magnificent halls of Elrond's house, as it seemed the elf lord, like most elves, had a special talent for blending into the surroundings and Bilbo didn't expect the tapestry he was admiring to start talking back..."

The hobbit pauses again and mumbles indistinguishably to himself. He reviews the recently written paragraph and begins to cross out words and rewrite sentences.

After a while, he pulls in the previous paper and writes:

"...He wore his hair loose, flowing down to mid-back, braided and adorned with blue gemstones, and it was, of color, like the autumn leaves of the trees in the elves' garden under the sunlight..."

'This saves both our dignity,' he proudly declares, resolving the issue.

........

Later, it seems that this section was removed from the Red Book, most likely because upon Bilbo's return to the valley, a perfectly good supper was unjustly wasted in the river when what initially appeared to be a young birch tree, against which Bilbo had leaned, moved and turned out to be said elf lord which greatly startled the hobbit.

Moral of the story: Never cross a hobbit about their meal, or they'll write you out of their famous tales.

Quickly notes on appearance for RP purposes

It is said that the beauty of the Eldar had not decayed since the first ones woke up at the shores of Lake Cuiviénen, either not their power... that instead, the elves that remain in Middle Earth grow tired in comparison to those who traveled to Aman for those stayed strong and rested through the years.

Face:

Long ageless face with a broad forehead, high cheekbones, and pointed chin.

Long hairy eyebrows and clear eyelashes.

Wide mouth better suited for smiling though this is rare for him.

Eyes:

Very clear gray, soft in their gaze.

Hair:

Long locks of warn blonde hair

Build:

His height, clothes, and long hair help to conceal that he has broad shoulders. He is not extremely muscular but he has not a lean frame either.

His legs are long and more muscular than his arms. ((Swimmer's body type))

Outfit:

When in elves' settlements he likes to wear colorful and bright robes of many layers in which he seems to sink. He often wears pieces of glass of his own making to accentuate his clothes and as a replacement for jewels for he would never wear gems, especially white gems for they resemble the Silmarill that bring the ruin to Doriath by Thingol's hand.

In the wilderness he switches this preference for a dark brown leather chestplate over a white robe. In those clothes, his build is more noticeable.

He only had in his possession one appropriate full metal armor set with Lothlorien motives that were gifted from Celeborn long years ago.

His family also used called him Celebrinar/Celebrinhador (S) / Telpearáto (Q), <<silver (color) warrior>> although nowadays it is rarely used as it was slowly replaced for Dunastfin (S) <<Hair like the light of the west>> once it was seen that he did not share the same coloration as the rest of his maternal family.

Dunastfin (S) is also the name which he is known among the race of men.

Short Background Summary (if you don't want to read the whole thing)

He was born in Menegroth, Doriath, in the first age of the elder days (453 to be precise). Heir of the high lord of Nost-Tathar (House of the Willow Tree) and kin of Galadhon, son of Elmo of the awakened, through his mother.

If you are a Dunedain or a man with connections to them:

You will know him as Dunastfin (S).

If you are a dwarf:

You don't know him, although he will be interested in the dwarf crafting of mosaics.

If you are a hobbit:

You don't know him, as he won't let himself openly see in the roads that crossed the Shire, only in the wilderness.

If you are an elf:

He survived the Second and Third Kinslaying. First at Menegroth when he was 53, then at the Havens of Sirion when he was 85 years old.

His parents still live in Lindon but he left the city with Celeborn y Galadriel and the elves who founded Ost-in-Edhil in Eregion in the year 750 of the S.A when he was 887 years old.

As kin of Celeborn he stayed with him in Eregion when the rings of power were forged and fought alongside him and Elrond. Then it will be the first time he visited Imladris when the host retired there.

After the war he stayed with Celeborn y Galadriel at Belfalas and lived at the place later called Dol Amroth, and started travel back and ford between there and Imladris before parting to joined up the "Last Alliance of Elves and Men" when he was 3.568 years old.

Then he returned with Elrond host to Imladris and never left the valley after that until Elrond asked him to search for Aragorn and the hobbits at the land north of the last homely house

About his parents

After the departure of Ingwë and Finwë, his father was one of those who chose Olwë as their king and lived at the river mouth of the Sirion, longing for those friends among the Vanyar and Noldor from whom he was now separated.

It was there that he found the forest of Nan-Tathren, and from that time on, he loved the land there and the whispers of the willow branches over the river's waters. Henceforth, he used a willow over a river as the symbol of his house and called himself Meltathrenlin(Love for the willows song).

His mother, Celebechuir(Silver early spring), on the other hand, as kin of Elmo was one who searched all through Beleriand at the west of Gelion River for Elwë, and it would be in these travels that she ended up meeting her husband in his land south of Sirion waterfalls.

They lived there together for many years, although they would often leave as Celebechuir was still in her search for Elwë, and later on, he counted himself among the Falathrim, and she among the Eglath.

After the awakening of Elwë, now known as Elu-Thingol, they would split their time between Nan-Tathren and Doriath where her family settled. Finally, they took permanent residence there as the Beleriand land was getting dangerous with Melkor's servants, and their son was born.
