But now, as the years begin to catch up to him, he has begun to focus on less back breaking work and instead, break some backs himself. The warrior spirit is awakening in Durigard, and he's beginning to feel more comfortable in armor than in fine silks. |

Background
Durigard is a middle aged Dwarf, hailing from The Lonely Mountain. Born in exile, Durigard(known as Duri to friends) was raised in The Grey Mountains as a miner by his father Halduri the Scorched. Halduri, being a survivor of Erebor, was adamant that Duri was a Dwarf of Erebor like his fathers. Even though Duri had only seen the mountain from a distance. The two would often travel from The Grey Mountains to The Iron Hills working from mine to mine. During his time in the Iron Hills, Durigard would often spend time with the warriors of Lord Dain Ironfoot. In time he befriended Valrik, a Ram Rider of Dain, and learned much from him. When the time came that Thorin, Son of Thrain, Son of Thror, called on Dain to help secure Erebor during The Battle of Five Armies, Durigard rode alongside his friend and his father. Duri fought hard and rode masterfully but a Mountain Troll’s swing caught his trusted mount in the head, killing it instantly. When Duri was thrown in the attack, he lost his helm and landed head first into a rock. When he came to moments later, he was filled with a madness. As the troll charged, Duri picked up a nearby battle axe and with a war cry, severed the leg of the troll below the knee. The troll fell suddenly and Duri began to hew the trolls head off. In his madness, he killed six more trolls in similar fashion screaming the Khuzdul word for “wyrm”. Upon killing the seventh, the troll’s body fell on Duri. The troll’s massive body partially pinned the battle-raged dwarf to the blood-soaked earth. As a group of Orcs began to close in around him, a division of Dain’s forces managed to sweep in just in time to rescue Duri. After the battle, Duri had a son named Brekkr and began to mine in The Lonely Mountain as his father and his fathers before him did. In T.A. 2989 Halduri left Erebor following Balin to reclaim Khazad Dum, commonly known as Moria. This parting was hard on Duri, but he focused on his work below the earth and built a sizable amount of wealth (though you’d hardly know it based on his clothes). In T.A. 3012 Duri’s son joined Dain’s warriors as a soldier of Erebor, often leaving Duri alone in deep mines of the mountain. In T.A. 3016 Duri began to ride again for the first time since The Battle of Five Armies and he felt more alive than he had in years. He started to offer his stills as a warrior soon after to merchants and travelers, yet always would he be a miner at heart. In these days, Durigard travels Middle Earth astride his Ram. He can be often found traveling from Erebor to Ered Luin.
