THE SIN-EATER CONCEPT
After receiving some questions in regard to my description of Lleucu as a 'Sin-Eater,' I thought it may be best to explain what this means. In Welsh culture and folklore, a Sin-Eater was an individual that consumed a ritual meal, in order to take spiritually take on the sins of a deceased individual. It was believed that the food absorbed the sins of the deceased, which in turn absolved the soul of that person. Consequently, a Sin-Eater would carry the sins of all those whose sins they had eaten.
If one is to ever find themselves in Dunland, or the outskirts, then they may come across Lleucu Llwyd in their path. Please do not hesitate to contact me if a meeting would be something that you are interested in!
