Outward Appearance

Of medium height and toned physique, this young woman is always leaning a little forward, as if about to break into a run.  Her face is open, but her jaw is often set stubbornly.  A careful observer might note the occasional cracks in her show of bravado, revealing her to be younger  and less confident than she might seem at first glance. Her features and mannerisms show her to be a woman of Rohan for those familiar with the people of that land.

Background

Ealdfrith, daughter of Ealdwine and Belfrith, grew up in a village in the Westfold, in a vale of the White Mountains between Edoras and Helm's Deep.  Despite her obvious martial prowess, she never served as a Rider of the Mark for Theoden-king.  Since arriving in Bree, she is often seen in company of another Eorling of dark hair (Kaldregar).  She is always eager to converse with her countrymen despite her occasional tendency towards grim moods.  Ealdfrith seems truly happy mainly when drinking mead with Eorlingas or shortening orcs by a head.

Those who observe her in battle will note an obvious lack of concern for her own well being, and she will not hesitate to throw herself between her cohorts and harm.  Other than the desire to protect, she becomes irrational, even savage, while fighting, and it is best not to stand in her way when the battle-ire descends.
