| Outward Appearance | Daeruth is rather tall for an elleth of the Noldo, with a slender build, unblemished cream-white skin and long graceful limbs and hands from which long immaculately kept nails grow, and glossy long black hair rolling down to the small of her back, her bearing is proud and haughty, her clothing is likewise immaculate and elegant. Upon meeting her stern and scrutinising gaze the irises of her eyes are so dark it appears her eyes are large and staring, flecked with violet that seems to catch the light and seeming as though a storm is raging behind her eyes, causing most folk to look away or maintain eye contact, feeling as if they have been judged and have been found wanting. Daeruth can communicate with animals and within the halls of Imladris will be accompanied by a mated pair of animal friends. Daeruth leaves her haunts rarely but If encountered on the road she will be armed with her walking stave, sword and a backpack full of scrolls or artifacts. Daeruth acts in a cold calm manner, but if pressed into a unwanted conversation is extremely candid pointing out failings and uses a mean mocking sense of humour in an attempt to discourage idle chatter. When speaking with her peers or about her preferred subjects, she is knowledgeable and insightful often giving an unconsidered point of view though often to the point of becoming tiresome. |

Background
Born in Minas Tirith(400FA) to parents who were the classic story of the elf warrior tended back to health by the healer that fell in love with him
Daeruth was shipped off to Nargothrond (450FA) by some precognition by her mother as just seven years later the fortress fell to the forces of Sauron, Daeruth found in Nargothrond she had a love of the old stories of the creations of Feanor, wishing she could invent items by her own hands, she fell in with Curufin and Celegorm and when they were exiled from Nargothrond Daeruth went with them (465FA) to Himlad for the first time meeting dwarrows of Nogrod and Belegost and began trading with them, becoming fast friends with other dwarven crafters. During her time with the brothers she learnt the prideful Feanoran ways and became a stern and forbidding elleth, when the second kinslaying came about (506FA) she refused to join in and the enamourment with the brothers was broken, she returned to Himlad and when the brothers failed to return from Doriath she collected as many artifacts as she could carry and headed toward Ered Luin and the dwarves, aiding them in the development of their reflecting mirrors and learning much of their ways.
During the second age(750SA) Daeruth travelled to Eregion but returned to Mithlond to seek ancient relics at Himling and the remains of Beleriand returning to Eregion in time for Annatar to appear, Daeruth found him a distasteful character and had little involvement preferring her own company, she became reclusive and secretive of her own creations and spent much of her time poring over collected scrolls, tomes and artifacts. (1690SA) After having some disturbing dreams and visions Daeruth began shipping out her library of collected relics to Lorien through Khazad-dum and was later vindicated in doing so by Sauron's attack on Ost-in-edhil, Daeruth fled through the Dwarrowdelf joining the army of Amroth and remaining until after the war of the last alliance. When a seeming peace was established Daeruth passed through the mountains to Imladris taking her vast collections and library with her.
Today should one dare to seek her out, Daeruth perhaps may be found in the great library of Imladris perusing over a scroll or tome, or in the scholars guild hall sharply berating someone for getting in the way, or in the halls of Tham Send either giving a lecture or talking with her peers.
On the inventions of Daeruth...
Daeruth has invented several objects of interest based on her glassblowing interest, crystal lenses of various concave and convex curves to place into her eyeglass, microscope and telescope, crystal mirrors of various sizes backed with mithril to carry light and signalling from afar, and a stone cutting device using the power of Arien herself, using the device to create a good blaze in a few moments (during daylight hours).
A current interest in tattooing has seen her develop a long fine hollow glass and silver needle that will hold ink. Currently discovering the lift principle as a side effect of her windmill being ran by warm air draughts.
