Outward Appearance

In equal fashion of his grandfather Brági, Tuni sports an impressive beard, at times full of grease and rings to keep the black hair in form, the five foot-tall warrior-dwarf bore an intimidating appearance.  Tuni was a stout dwarf. Strong built and trained, his shoulders were brought and literally carved from stone to carry great weight over long distances. But by all his broad looks, he was not a miner. The long battle-ax he leant on was evident to his profession.

His jagged, weather-beaten features were marred with a myriad of scars both old and new. Burns adorned his countenance. Every little cut resembles a tale of its own, and one might find him spinning it with a little more golden thread woven in his words than needed.

Short-fused would be an adequate description of him, being quick to scorn and holding grudges like a traumatised stray dog. He does mean well, but his love for gold has corrupted his deeds more than once. But fear not, the Dwarf is a merry one.

Within the hedge wall of Bree, Tuni is known for his troublemaking and excessive consumption of beverages. Regularly found breaking down tables by dancing on them, fancying a bar-brawl and roaring chants like the anvil of good Mahal himself, he makes himself worthy of that reputation.

Tuni has a tendency to invite himself to parties and adventures.

Background

Tuni his life has been a whirlpool of events, some having left more than a physical mark upon his being. One would even consider him touched by the moon.

It all began beneath rock and soil, deep under the Grey Mountains where no wind could pass and no sunlight was seen, no thrush nestling in the spring. They were alone with the mountain, dwarves in their element. Long years before Tuni was born, a great war came to the Grey Mountains. The war known to us as the “War of Dwarves and Dragons”. The drakes came for the stout dwarves that dwelled these mountains, sacking and plundering their halls and mines. The conflict lasted for almost twenty years, but in the year 2598 of the Third age, the dragons attacked the halls of King Dáin I and a great Cold-drake slew his second son Frór.

The dwarves eventually fled. Well, most of them…

Sat quietly in a humble, cramped hut above ground was a small family of dwarven exiles by the name of ‘Stonebeards’. For generations, none really knew what happened to their kin certain miles away. Truth be told, they did not care. After all, they were banished from the realm after Sjúrki the Flame-handed pushed his elder sister down a well, never to be seen again. She did steal his belt, you cannot blame him!

Brúni son of Brági and an unmentioned mother-figure were given two sons, Mahal be praised, and named them Tuni and Funi. The twins grew to a good height and their guts were well-fed and bulging with ales. Being the first of their bloodline ever to return to the mountain entrances, they were in for a surprise. Cold-drakes and goblins now ruled their people’s mighty halls and after a number of hard-fought encounters they managed to escape the lands festering with orcs and countless other beasts.
