Outward Appearance

Cutting a tall lean figure, Tuilerie is not someone to stand out in a crowd. She has raven black hair, common to her Noldorin kin, kept short, and is of slender build. She moves carefully and quietly, as if wise in the wild, wearing tightly fitting clothing in green-brownish colors.

She seldom speaks first, and seems to avoid crowds. Though she may laugh and partake in mirth, she quiets down quickly, adopting her usual look of melancholy.

When seen, she often carries a fine long bow, one of her own making, and two smaller swords. She is often accompanied by one of her hunting dogs. Whenever approaching non-elven settlements, she will drape herself with a cloak to appear nondescript.

Background

Tuilerie was born around 600 SA to parents of Noldor exiles that had settled in Farlindon after the Great War. They were both devoted jewel-smiths, and followers of the work of Celebrimbor.

When Tuilerie was born, her father held great hopes that she would follow in their footstep and devote herself to the study of becoming a jewel-smith too, but at a small age it was apparent that that was not to be her destiny. Already at a young age, she would often wander in the forests of Lindon, up into the mountains of Ered Luin, staying away for many days. This irritated her father immensely and left him feeling disappointed in her, and that would later drive a wedge between them.

When Ost-in-Eldhil was founded, and Celebrimbor moved there, the family followed, and her parents came to join the Gwaith-i-Mírdain. As Galadriel and Celebor left, and Celebrimbor assumed leadership of Hollin, the relationship between Tuilerie and her father only worsened. She would now stay away from home, always seeking the company of those who wandered the fringes of their realm, only ever coming home to visit her mother, whenever her father was away.

Despite the wedge between her father and herself, the years in Hollin were happy ones. She discovered her affinity to working with wood, and learn to craft weapons of hardened wood and instruments. She would often accompany hunters and scouts that patrolled the surrounding wooden landscape, in search of wood to work with, and she learned the way of the wild, becoming a skilled tracker herself.

The years in Hollin passed quietly and Tuilerie came to explore the world, from Vinyalondë in the south, to lands north of the Mitheithel, the mountain range of Hithaeglir and the eastern slopes down to Fangorn of old. However she would often try to return home to visit her mother.

At the sack of Ost in Edhil, Tuilerie was away south. Too late did she manage to get back home, only to find her home in utter ruins.

She found the remains of her father atop the steps of the ruined library, but felt nothing upon seeing his mutilated corpse, Only growing emptiness filled as she realized she would now never be able to reconcile with him.

Worried for her mother, she kept searching day and night, and finally found her among the refugees that were heading for Lothlórien. She convinced her mother to come with her to Imladris where Elrond had established himself and offered a sanctuary for those that were homeless. Her mother, gravely wounded, followed her to Imladris, but perished later from grief.

At the time when the witch-king of Angmar lay siege to Rivendell, Tuilerie partook in the defenses, and during the war of the last Alliance she lent her support as a scout for the great host of Gil-Galad and Earendil as they marched east across the Hithaeglir.

Today, Tuilerie remains in Imladris, acting as a hunter and scout, working with wood that she so loves, seemingly coming alive in her gentle and skillful hands. She has no living relatives this side of the great Belegaer, apart from distant kin in Farlindon. Indeed few are her friends, yet she is utterly loyal to those she do befriend.
