Background
Born to Aderthad, a Dunedain stationed in Annuminas and Somerhild Aethelwyn, a Rohhirim blacksmith's daughter traveling to Bree-town.
By the time Somerhild's caravan arrived in Bree, she had given birth to Brandant but continued to raise him without the presence of his father, who had never been there to witness his son being brought into the world, and thus, Brandant was raised solely by his mother who established her self as one of the only female blacksmiths in Bree, and one of the most renowned for her expert metallurgy, be it forging horseshoes and plows for the farmers, or swords and shields for the Watchers. She had started to pass on the skills to Brandant when she contracted an illness, probably due to working in the forges day and night, then passed away in her sleep around her only son's thirteenth-winter.
Brandant did what was required of him for the comings months. Working in the stables, and working for different smiths who had respected his mother until eventually his estranged-father, Aderthad found him and took him from Bree-town.
In the coming years, Brandant grew close to the father he never knew as he was trained and honed as a ranger, taking postings in the North Downs, the Lone-lands and Breeland, before being sent to Annuminas for a few years. By the time he had been two years into his post, Brandant received news that his father had fallen in battle with Orcs near Fornost. His body was never recovered.
Three-years later, the young ranger was given orders to move in with another group in the Chetwood, where he became fast friends with the Ranger-captain Aeruthuil, and soon after become his unspoken-second-in-command.
| Loves | Meade, whiskey, nature, a stand-up fight, hobbits, shepherds-pie and the forge |
|---|---|
| Hates | Cowardice, injustice, those who prey on the weak and defenseless. Those without integrity. |
| Motivation | Brandant has a true belief in the abilities of the Rangers to make a difference, and the "good" that may still reside in the hearts of Men. |
| Quotes | "This is Brandant. My best mate. Right hand, if you will. He doesn't say much, but when he does, it's worth listening to"- Captain Aeruthuil |
