Laelas is a kindly, good-natured Wood-elf, as Wood-elves go. Folk sometimes hang many labels on these people: odd, mysterious, secretive, and dangerous, to mention only a few. In general, he is soft-spoken and unassuming. 

He is slightly taller than a Middle Man, but shorter than any Noldo. Neither too high nor too small, his stature is 'just right' (at least Laelas thinks so).

Equipped with a long knife and an ancient bow, salvaged from the battle-plain beside the Black Gate, he does not wear the armor of the King's Guard. His wardrobe is spare, and he usually wears brown suede leggings and shirt. In colder weather, he wears a heavy cloak lined with sheepskin.
