Gwennol is a small woman, standing just around 5'1" (156 cm), slight of build but not without a wiry strength that comes from living in a harsh environment. Fair of face, she has sunkissed skin and freckles, her hair is a reddish brown and her eyes a muddy blue-hazel.

She has no visible scars or blemishes but for a tribal marking on her shoulder that is normally hidden under the wool and hide robes she wears. Around her neck is a talisman of the Huntsman, an antler tine carved with the symbol of Rhi Helvarch wrapped in bronze wire, hung from a leather thong flanked by a pair of boar tusks along with rune carved beads of stone, bone, teeth, and a few beads of garnet. Gwennol carries a walking staff that doubles as a weapon. At her shoulder is her tame craban, Cysgod.

Background

A daughter of the Turch-Luth, the Boar Clan, she grew up with her parents and siblings, taking care of their small herd of goats in the rocky hills. When she was thirteen, warriors of another clan raided their village and the surrounding farm lands. Gwennol was in the hills with the goats but she could see the fires burning and heard the screams. She escaped from the grasps of one warrior only after invoking the protection of the Huntsman and the raider's own superstition causing him to leave her alone.

It was then, faced with the revelation she had witnessed and the burned out remnants of her village, that she decided to devote her life to the Derudh. Her journey lead her to a wiseman who then guided her to Enedwiath where she found her mentor, an old woman named Ffion. Gwennol learned much in the years that followed, from herblore and healing to the ways of the spirits and ceremonies to invoke their good will and how to properly show respect and worship the Huntsman.

It was during a trance to commune with the spirits of the land that she heard the voice of the spirit of the boar, telling her of a land to the north where the people had lost their way and no longer listened to the forest and had forgotten the great Huntsman. Ffion determined it was meant for her to go north, to these lands and to observe who lived there and their ways. The people were once part of the Tribe but were long lost, the old woman had said. Her mentor also knew the rumors of war and the Old Man who offered their people reward for shedding blood of old enemies. Ffion heard of the abomination half orcs that had come to Dunland and their loyalty to the Old Man of the Tower. It did not bode well and she thought it best her young protege leave before the war spilled over into even their wilderness home. Thus Gwennol, accompanied by her pet craban, set on her path up the old stone road.
