Aurineth was born to a notable family in Mithlond, descendants of the Falathrim who followed Lord Cirdan since the Years of the Trees. Their long history with the lord earned them favor to serve as his official messengers and advisors, and the first-born of their family were always given the honor. However, Aurineth grew up under the shadow of her elder brother, who was slowly being trained for his future position from a young age. From watching him, she learned to love the role of the messenger and desired the profession for herself, yet it was not her birth right as the second-born.

Determined to make a life for herself as an official courier somewhere, she left her family in Mithlond with her trained birds in search of a place to offer her services. Thus, she spent some time in Imladris, delivering messages among the valley-folk. Despite her forgetfulness and lack of scholarly aptitude, she also devoted her time to studying, for an official messenger should be wise and well-learned. Her only redeeming characteristic as a student is her exceptionally elegant handwriting that is worthy of official book-scripting.

Yet, the far distance from her family and the ensuing homesickness brought Aurineth back towards the West. Her brother found her a courier position in Ered Luin, so that she may deliver messages among the elven dwellings of Celondim, Duillond, and Mithlond while being closer to her beloved family.
