| Outward Appearance | Ameren is taller than your average Bree-lander, reaching 1.78 metres, and far more sharply dressed. She is usually seen wearing a colourful jacket of fine make, heavy leather boots and a magnificent plumed hat. Also unlike most Bree-folk, her hair is blonde, which she keeps tucked away under the hat or pinned up and braided, and her eyes seem to shift between various shades of blue and green, depending on the light. Her features are soft and handsome, but an old scar next to her left eye mars her face.
Her presence is nonthreatening, most people tend to find it quite calming, and she will rarely even use a harsh tone when she speaks. Rather, she is damn near always cheerful and seemingly carefree, happy to socialise with the patrons of the Prancing Pony or keep them entertained, be it by playing her lute, telling a story, or flaunting her wit.
While she is a polite, charming, and very charismatic person, she also has a tendency to take jabs at people to provoke them, most of the time in playful jest, but sometimes merely because she can and she is curious about what the response will be, and because it amuses her. In fact, there appears to be little that Ame will not do if it is likely to result in a laugh. She follows through with even the most ridiculous and insane ideas that come to mind.
Outside of Bree, most notably among the Eglain and the people of Trestlebridge, she is perhaps less known as a bard and more as a field healer prone to reckless behaviour. |

Background
Ameren is not one to talk about her past and will usually make up a far-fetched, though rather entertaining, story when asked. These tall-tales include, but are not limited to, her being a dragon tamer from the frozen north, her having discovered the secret to immortality and now hiding from the elves, and one of her favourites, her being a prince from a far away land, cursed for his vanity and arrogance to wander Middle Earth as a female bard.
On the rare occasions she is actually serious, however, she sees herself as a Bree-lass, having grown up in the town and spent most of her life within the hedges. She learned how to play the lute at a very young age and, while decently proficient with other instruments, she plays it almost exclusively. This has led her to be very skilled indeed, something that perhaps shows best when she is playing and striking up conversation at the same time, as she often makes a point out of maintaining eye contact with the person she is speaking with while her fingers dance across the strings.
How she obtained most of her other skills, and her education, is anyone's guess, as she will simply spin a new tale any time she is asked, the truth only known to the select few she truly trusts, and even they may not have been told all of it. One might be able to piece together some of it, though, should one be of the perceptive sort. While she will go to great lengths to avoid violence, preferring to talk her way out of conflicts, she is very skilled at hand-to-hand combat and has the reflexes to match, getting herself out of harm's way deceptively quickly for someone of her laid back demeanour. The way she wields a sword suggests that she was trained by someone well-versed in the art of fencing and that she has since acquired well over a decade of experience fighting with a blade.
Despite her social, easygoing, and friendly nature, one thing Ame really dislikes is physical contact with people she doesn't know too well. Anything beyond a handshake makes her uncomfortable and she will appear rather annoyed when she needs to point out that while one may look and listen as much as one likes, touching the bard is certainly not allowed. Oddly enough this changes rather dramatically when she is interacting with close friends.
