Under the Elves of Mirkwood he is known as Calad-innas (Will of the Light), due to his custom of straying one of the safe paths of the forest, using the light of a lantern, while chanting hymns and old songs.
In Lothlórien there have been minor sightings of him, yet mournful tales are being weaved there, in the songs he is named as the Linniel-achas (Singing Dread).
To find out about his past life, one should be referred to the chronicle His Fell Mind.
