Tyelepfëa's father and mother he knows not much of, for when Melkor came to Formenost as a black cloud, it happened that his Father who stood on watch was slain. His Mother in her grief was no more for the sadness that overcome her was too much to bear.Tyelepfëa was still young and had not the heart to take action as he was young and afraid, hid in his home as dark events took place. Thus with the loss of his parents came the burning desire for revenge not only unto Melkor but to all things he deemed evil, so as the Oath was sworn by Feanor he joined them and in his Oath he  swore he would abandon the name his mother gave him and not take it back, until he held his Oath fulfilled and so from then on Tyelepfëa saw Feanor as an inspiration and followed him readily then on.

Tyelepfëa joined the host of feanor and Fingolfin and although he was without family he was not without friends. He considered it the happiest time of his life.
