| Outward Appearance | Imlothiel is not the most comely of elves, to a small number, she is astounding and yet to most others her sharp features are too angular- they can be likened to the blade of a knife, sharp and almost harsh. Her cheek bones are very high and her jaw is narrow, even her body is angular and slight, with long thin arms and long thin legs protruding from a small, thin body- she is not at all ‘womanly’ in her appearance, nor is she masculine. |

Background
Imlothiel comes from a somewhat regimented background, she has no siblings and previously she had lived within mirkwood, helping to defend against the evils that had descended upon that wood- those evils that have dwelled there for so long.
Years ago, Imothiel’s father had sent her to Imladris on important business, along with a group of other elves; archers and healers. Most do not know Imlothiel’s reasons for having travelled to the elf haven, only Elrond and those with whom he holds council know the truth.
Unfortunately, while in Imladris, Imlothiel’s love Herumacil dies. But instead of returning home to mourn him, she had sent for her son- Glandraug, bringing him to the elf haven to complete his training. Her reasons for doing this seemed strange to most. And also to most she seemed not to mourn the death of Herumacil, not betraying any emotion.
And so for a time she lived in Imladris, following her father’s orders and sometimes speaking with Lord Elrond on various matters. Though, her time in Imladris was to come to an end, with her important and secret task complete.
Not wishing to leave Imladris and knowing of the growing evils, Imlothiel had decided to join the Warband of Imladris, believing as she does in their cause and that she can better help the elves of Mirkwood by working to overcome the evils that she knows threaten her home and her family.
Upon deciding to stay, Imlothiel’s father had given her leave to do so and also he had allowed her to join the Warband, though asking that she send reports to him, informing him of any matter she thinks to be of importance. She would not have disobeyed him had he asked that she return to him.
Imlothiel loves her son and she always seeks perfection from him- to some it would seem that she is never happy with his undertakings but deep, within her heart, she is proud of him.
She can often be found to be teaching Glandraug, on matters of Elvish lore, hunting and battle. Or having recently joined the warband, she can be seen to be out with her kin members, ever vigilant and ready for battle. She can always be found outside... Having a natural and unwavering preference for forests- to be away from Mirkwood is often like a dagger to her heart.
