Ever garbed in travelworn clothing, what sets this man appart from the common wanderer is the outfit he wears. A bendy old gambeson and a small collection of weaponry that clearly have been put to good use and seem to be a mesh of southern forging and northern practicality. His shield depicts a woman and her son beneath a white tree, surrounded by Mannish runes of the north, once it may have been quite the piece of art, but repainting and the many marks of weapons hitting home now have marred it, just as sure as a soldier is marred by the experiences he is put into. He is of northern stock, that much can be defined by his height and the knotworks on his gear. His eyes are a vibrant green, vibrant as is his smile which is never too far away. Unlike most northern men though he has a clean shaven chin, his hair is short and thus carries not the distinguishable braids or locks, only one pluck of long hair stands in salute to those whom he speaks with. He has several tattoos, yet the one most seen is the one on his right arm, reading in the common tongue: "Soldiers of Fortune, for Mundburg and the Queen!"

Background
Born in the north, yet raised in the south. This man has to thank his life and teachings to his father, a man that died serving for Gondor. He was yet a young child when his father went south to make his fortune. Regardless of this man's past, his son Geirdrifa carries on his legacy. He was only twelve summers as he first was drafted into the army of Gondor as a squire and this may answer why after twenty years of service he is still considerably young compared to most of his comrades. During these early years he came to learn the stories of the north of fierce heroes and brave kings and more importantly the bonds there lie between men of the north and south in the kingship that is now being held by the Stewards since many generations ago.
He cleaned in the encampments, he cooked, he took care of the equipment and the horses if need be with the other younger squires and once even carried water during a battle to thirsty men, ever with the smile of a boy that knew he was living a heroes' tale. Yet as is the reward for all those that are seen to heed the commanding officers words and proven responsible, thus he was given his spear and shield.
Yet after twenty years of service as is offered to men that live not as long as those of the Numenorean bloodline. He said his farewells and ever since has been "The Smiling Soldier of Fortune", whom offers his skill at arms to the needy that can pay for his professional services.
Yet war has not ceased with his leave of the army, he has heard many rumors and tales during his days on the road. Who knows where and when he shall go once he deems himself needed on the field of battle once more?
Wherever he shall go though, there is always one following him. A woman hailing from the warm lands to the south. They may seem a strange couple, particularly so when they travel to lands where neither originated from. Were one to meet Geirdrifa it would rarily be him alone.
