| Outward Appearance | Thiliedis is a pale elleth with short, raven-colored hair. Smelling of lavender and sea salt, it is often windblown by the steady ocean breeze. Her dark lashes hide a silver secret, the light of her people adorned in her eyes, as bright as the stars hung like diamonds in the vaulted heavens above. They have faded a bit from her long stay in Arda, but they still hold a semblance of the brilliance and warmth that they had when she was younger. Ere the breaking of the day, they are on the horizon as if out to sea, her thoughts a grey ship jostled by the ebb and flow of time.

Background
Thiliedis was born in SA 117 to Helegon and Tingwen of the Grey Havens. This would make her 6342 years old by TA 3018 (the year that Frodo Baggins left the Shire with the One Ring). Her heritage is of the Teleri, the Elves of the Sea. Thiliedis’ father, Helegon, was of the Iathrim of Doriath under King Thingol, and her mother, Tingwen, was one of the Falathrim under Cirdan. Helegon was a minstrel by trade while Tingwen was one of Cirdan’s esteemed mariners. From her father, Thiliedis learned of the ways of the harp and, from her mother, she learned of the ways of the sea. In the realm of Mithlond, Thiliedis is a lampwright and a mistress of the harbor. She stands with a lantern held aloft in preparation for the arrival of the dusky twilight, a beacon of light at the docks to guide the reluctant sailors away from the dark, churning waters that they hold so dear. Thiliedis also carries this light as she leads those who wish to make the voyage into Valinor along the path to the Grey Havens. This lantern is what she is known for, and is her greatest possession.
