Vend Audante, "Herald of the Night"

Name Vend
Occupation
Thief
Age
Middle-aged
Race
Man
Residence
Somewhere in Bree
Kinship
Outward Appearance

Standing at slightly taller than average height for a Man, with a slender but well-defined build, this man has black, straight, slightly shorter than shoulder length hair, only visible when he's not wearing his hood and mask. He has very pale blue eyes, almost grey, that tell stories of pain, but also excitement.

He wears a black hood with a mask that hides his features, a black cloak with a stitched form of a raven's skull and feathers on it, a black coat with olive vest over it full of pockets of all sizes and black, buckled boots.

He usually manages to not attract attention to himself with the way he carries himself, although his outfit usually gets a glance or a whispered comment out of people.

Background

Vend grew up in a beggars' guild in Gondor, with other children his age. A childhood was the last thing he had, however. Begging at day and stealing at night, he barely scraped by. Once he was old and experienced enough to become a freelance thief, he left the guild and robbed houses under the cover of the night sky. Until he was caught trying to steal the Guard-Captains' helmet. Dragged in a back alley to be killed like a dog, by a twist of fate, three hooded, masked and cloaked figures attacked the guards that had cornered him and drove them away, they themselves fleeing afterwards without a word. They wore cloaks with stitched raven skull and feather figures on them.

After that, Vend fled to The Shire, where he spent ten years of his life among the Hobbits, helping them out with chores or in the farms and breweries and tailors, with a roof over his head and warm food on his plate as a reward.

Looking for something more, he went to Bree, where he now resides, to join The Rangers, protect the Free Peoples and, perhaps, find out more about who his parents were.
