She has dark blue-green eyes, with long dark brown hair, which often contains stray twigs and mud from her frequent travels in the wilds. She wears a small green pendant around her neck, the only decorative item which she chooses to wear normally; it appears to hold some sentimental value to her.

She usually wears light clothes while travelling or scouting, dyed in shades of green and brown to allow her to travel unseen. She also has a set of scale elven armour, gifted to her before she left Lindon, worn usually when she is expecting to face heavy battle.

Background

Her father-name being Caleniel, named so for her love of the green forests, as well as the colour, she was also often nicknamed Gladrandir, or 'forest wanderer', by those she met in her travels.

Growing up in Lindon, near the havens, Caleniel had little experience with any other than her own people. Most of those around her, including her parents, were craftsmen of note. Her father was a shipwright of the havens and her mother was talented with the needle and thread. However, Caleniel never took much of a liking to crafting, instead preferring to explore the woodlands and shores near to their home. She learnt her skills as a warden while guarding caravans of goods that travelled to and from the havens with supplies and crafting materials.

Much to her mother's ire, Caleniel in her youth was very absent-minded, and would often wander off into the wilds for days on end, losing track of time entirely. It was on one of these wanderings that she met an elf named Mîrcurunír, a jewel smith who also resided within the havens. He too, was enamoured by the beauty of the woodlands, and the pair quickly struck up a friendship. He became like a brother to her and would have followed Caleniel to the war in the east, if she had allowed it.

Eventually her family chose to sail into the West, but Caleniel could not leave the woodlands of middle earth of which she loved so dearly fall into shadow, and so she chose instead to travel over the Blue Mountains, seeking the Elves who lived in Eriador on order to offer her aid. She also insisted that Mîrcurunír sailed also, as he was no warrior and she feared that the evil from the east would destroy him. He eventually acquiesced to her wishes, but gave her a small green stone pendant he had crafted as a parting gift.

For a time after this she resided with her mother’s people, who were of Laiquendi heritage, within the forests of Lindon. But although she was content there, and learnt much of forest craft, her idealistic nature led her to join the muster of the host of Elves that departed from Lindon to aid in the battle of Fornost. Although she only played a small part in the fighting, the battle left its mark; very rarely will she speak of it willingly.

Sometime after this, a series of events resulted in Caleniel finding herself in Imladris, and within the Warband of Imladris led by Lady Elisbeth Starfire. Under the training of those within the warband, in particular Captain Khalis Imieran, she improved greatly in her skill with spear, sword and shield. From both these elves Caleniel learnt much of both the martial arts and of leadership, and gained much confidence in her abilities.

Since the disbandment of the Warband, Caleniel found herself wandering for a time, offering her aid in the wilds to those in need. On a recent return to Imladris however, she heard that several of her formal companions had found their way to the house of Vanimar.

Caleniel was last seen in Imladris had offered her services as a guard and tracker to a group within the Vanimar who were rumoured to be travelling to the havens.
