Hailing from Minas Tirith, Steaduil dwelt long in sight of the shadow, growing and darkening over the years of his life.  Upon coming of age, he served Gondor with his sword-arm, like his father before him, and his father before him.  For many years did he do battle with the forces of the Enemy, in the Southern Fiefdoms and beyond; and ere he departed as a guard of the White City for a mission of some import, he was known as an upright and respectable man who did not take his duties lightly.
