Luingil, the name meaning blue star in his native language Sindarin, is the eldest child of Morvrethil and Helyanwen of Doriath. He was born in the year 510 of the First Age in Ered Luin, where his parents had took refuge after the sacking of their homeland. Luingil was a fairly bright child who took a keen interest in drawing and painting. He had a happy and fulfilling childhood.

When he was old enough, Luingil took an interest in his father's work. Morvrethil, when time permitted, would take the child out on hunts. However, the bow was not Luingil's strength, he preferred melee combat. He would practice using a sword, with his father teaching him all he could. When Luingil reached adulthood, he joined his father's Guard - Aeneglain Tirith.It was at this time that he took up a side profession. He learned the ways of crafting armour and shields. He has become highly skilled and provides armour for the Guard, as well as allies who have use for it.

Late in the Third Age, Luingil's father perished on duty. He does all he can to look after his mother and keep to his duties in the Blue Mountains.
