Lufawyn is not tall, though she is strong and agile, with powerful arms and shoulders that allow her to wield her greatsword with ease. Her body is wiry and tight, her muscles toned from countless hours in the saddle. Straw-coloured hair hangs to her shoulders, framing a delicate jaw and full lips, capable of both the sweetest of smiles and the fiercest of snarls. She is young, though her eyes are deep and thoughtful, framed by faint lines. Seemingly quiet and reserved, this impression is soon belied by the unchecked wildness in her gaze and the sharp cut to her tongue when she is in a temper. She moves with confidence and fears neither man nor beast. Wary of strangers and definite in all that she does; there is an untamed edge to Lufawyn - though she is undoubtedly good at heart. |

Background
Born in a small village in Rohan surrounded by wide plains and horse-lands, Lufawyn spent the earliest years of her life peacefully with her parents and elder brother. When she was still very small her father left for Edoras in order to swear his blade in service to Theoden King, unsettled by the troubles which had begun to grow within Rohan - most evident in the small towns and villages for which there was little real protection.
Not long after, Orcs passed through Lufawyn’s village, leaving behind a trail of destruction which left no homestead unsullied. Most of the villagers were slaughtered; though many - mostly women and children - were taken alive as slaves or spoils of war.
Lufawyn, her brother and their mother were among those unlucky few; forced to march with the Orcs towards whatever ungodly end awaited them. Many died on the march, succumbing to wounds, exhaustion or disease. Lufawyn's mother could not bear to see her children bound to such an evil fate and so concealed them beneath the thorns of a sharp briar when the Orcs paused for rest and food. By sheer chance and good fortune, the children were not detected and the march moved on without missing their number.
With no way of knowing where they were, and with no home to return to either way, Lufawyn and her brother turned to the wilds. They wandered together, learning how to hunt and fend for themselves in the vast plains and hills. Nine years passed before they once more wandered close to civilisation. Her brother chose to leave the wilds and return to the society he once knew; eager to pledge himself to the king's army and fight against the growing evil, seeking vengeance for his family and friends.
Lufawyn however - now a headstrong fifteen year old - refused to join him; blaming the king's army for their plight. She turned her back on Rohan, vowing to fight the evils of the world in her own way.
In the years since that day, Lufawyn has trained herself to fight both men and beast alike and holds no fear for either. She wandered alone for a long while, hunting down and killing any orcs she came across, but soon came to the realisation that if she was going to make any real difference and do more than simply scrape a living she would need money for weapons, armour and food. With this in mind, she came once again near to civilisation, taking up work as a mercenary wherever and whenever she could. It was shortly after beginning life as a mercenary that Lufawyn met Daeferon and the foundations of her true calling were laid.
