Outward Appearance

Body type: (Build, skinny, thin, tall, short, rotund, fat, muscled, short, slim):

Hair color and style: His hair, and beard alike is one big mess. Unkempt, smelly and greasy. His hair goes down to around his shoulders, black with several gray stings, and the beard as well is one majestic piece. It covers most of his face, and from the looks of it, it's there not because of style, but rather because of a certain unwillingness to shave.

Skin tone and type: His skin is pale, yet weatherworn. Several scars don his body and face, red areas can be found from place to place, either because of the ocassional sunburn or simply because of it being worn. Generally, his skin and face seems to be a rather weatherworn mismatch.

Favored Clothing Style: And what then, you might ask, does an adventurer such as Al wear? Usually something protective yet flexible. Leather and ocassional ringmail seem to be his armor of choice, and yes, the armor usually only comes off in the bed or when taking a swim. Green, gray and leatherishy brown seems to be the usual colors his armor takes.

Least favored clothing style: Well, well, well. Touchy subject. Usually anything that makes him look formal in any way, whether it be a tunic or something more upper-classerly-twittish, he likes his armor just as it is.

Important/Usual Accessories: (Stuff they wear all the time, or has personal meaning and why. ) There's a certain amulet which he always wears, the story behind it only given to the most trusted of his friends. The amulet is hanging from a leather string 'round his neck, upon which is a viper. A viper twisting around itself, a long tongue coming out of it's mouth, about the length of a fingernail. The viper itself is made out of some green stone material it would seem, glistening in the sun - the tongue however seems to be made out of bone or teeth, its point sharp enough to pierce through a man's chest.

Scar(s): (Where, type, size, color, shape, depth, thickness, sensitivity)

Other Marks: (Freckles, birth marks, diamonds embedded in their chest, missing fingers, extra toes, additional fins, ribs, burns, markings.)

Predominant Features: (Large nose, recessed eyebrow ridge, weak chin, large ears, high cheek bones, thick lips, facial hair, birth marks.)

Visual Health Level: (Skinny, thin, ratty, old, weak, strong, vivacious, glowing, spunky, dying, sick, well-taken-care-of.)

Spending Habits: (Money, spending, buying, haggling, saving, price issues, how often, how much max, sale hunter, extravagant spender)

Background

Alwandrer. Al to those he meet. His voice is gruffy and possessing some deep undertones, his beard is wildly unkempt and his face is scarred by many a battle. His hair is greasy and not many pleasant scents can be found in it. His clothes are worn and weathered, often holding physical accounts of all the places he's travelled hidden in cracks and tears. Sometimes even in the vermin that have made a most comfortable home in appearal and body alike. A sword will always be found hanging by his side, sometimes joined by a dagger. A bow over his back, and quiver with many an arrow. Al surely has the makings of an adventurer, tracker or freelancer about him. But who is he?

Once you get past his rough exterior, much can be found. A well-read and studied man, he seems to have an opinion about most everything, and will often do his best to defend it. Seemingly charming at times, especially when young women are of the question, but devilishly cold and indifferent if he does not take a liking to you quickly. Some say he grows on you, but that of course, is a discussion for another time, as well as something you, dear reader, may one day get the privilege, or dread, of having to one day decide yourself.

If at an interview, people will sometimes have to answer quirky trivia about themselves. What would Al then choose to answer, some of you may wonder. Without further ado, here is a quick bit of trivia that may help shape your view of this freelancer more round than square.

Favorite meal: Goat seasoned in local, Breeish herbs with a dash of warm milk.

Favorite drink: Whilst many strong beverages have found their way into his belly, and often, might I add, with quite the enjoyment from Al, he seems to particularly favor a stout local to the Prancing Pony and Mr. Butterbur, one of which he does not seem willing to share a name, but rather exclusively believe that those who are worthy of knowing the credentials of the stout already know so.

Favorite (pipe)weed: Yet again we arrive to one of the man's exclusives. If you somehow manage to make friends with the man, the name of this particularly mellowing pipeweed can be learnt from Al, as it is a friend of his who provides for him.

If you had to be an animal, what would it be?: "Uhhmm.. a warg. They have a ferocity and mentality that I find particularly intriguing. Or a goat. They're tasty."

Favorite sex position: Well, here we arrive at a crossroads. Does Al like you? Yes? Well, then ask him yourself, don't try finding creepy information here! No? Well, you just did what in learned circles is called crossing the line. You can proudly add to your collection of the evening a set of battered ribs and kneecaps.

Hah, very funny, but back to topic, does he fear anything?: Several things in fact. One of his biggest fears, and a thing that haunts him daily, is making any woman feel underappreciated. Why? Read the prologue here coming as soon as it's written. Heights. Yes, heights. Luckily, the ways of getting to high vistas was rather limited back then, but say Al is at a mountain. He decides, despite knowing how it'll make him feel, to lean forward and look down the slope. Result? A grown man shuddering like a baby. Fred not however, he still is a man worthy of your coin if men or undead or beast plague ye, for of these fiend and vermin, Al has no fear! Several other things, however? That is another story altogether wait for it to be written, goddammit!

Any quirks I should be aware of?: Well, as any living person, quirks are aplenty. To list them all for your reading pleasure would be too huge an undertaking to even consider, and just by the thought I shudder! However, I few I've been convinced to share, so here they are, in no particular order, as categorizing quirks is... misunderstood: Al does actually, you may find, have a particular love for involving killing or weapons in his analogies. Not just some of them, but to this day I've only heard a handful that differed from this rule. A certain other thing is the fact that the man only ever seems to have one name for his horses. They wither and die, but the one name seems to stick around. Skeevers. I know, I know, but I can hardly be to blame, I'm simply recounting what I know about our mutual friend. I also noticed something strange lately, now that I think of it. We was sitting in a tavern, as friends will often do, and no, not the Pony, but that smaller one down in Combe. Forgot its name, but then again, that is hardly the point of the story, now is it? I was telling him a magnificent tale, and all the while, well, he did listen, but alas, felt a need to constantly whirl the beverage in his mug. That annoyed me to oblivion, as it interrupted this most magnificent tale, but at the same time, it got me thinking. Thinking back at all the times Al has whirled his beverage. One theme was reoccuring: Every time he'd whirled his beverage, to my remembrance, he had been heavily worried. So, my dear reader, if you ever happen to find yourself on the drinking table with Al, be sure to watch out for the beverage-whirling. Because it means he's worried. And there's no telling what he can do when he's worried. He then becomes rash and impulsive, not a positive trait for any armed man..

Social class and occupation: Sword for hire, he is seemingly not too well-off. His appearl is old and heavily worn, his hair and beard wild and unkempt - yet he has enough money to spend his nights at taverns and inns most of the time, living well on their finer meals and beverages. Also, a closer inspection of his weapons hint fine craftsmanship, his dagger even being heavily adorned with jewelry and insignia. Whether heritage or wealth allowed him weapons finer than most is a mystery lost to only the ages and himself.

Religious and philosophical values: Seemingly a man of staunchly nihilistic and indifferent ideas about Arda and its people, upon first inspection one would hardly guess this man to hold any higher ideals or morals. That could not be farther from the truth, he lives by a sacred code, albeit his own, staunchly-guarded code. He also believes firmly in Ilúvatar and the story of creation, the Maia and the Valar; this however is the beliefs of a learned man, an attribute he seems to halfly shun away from. His code is as follows:

Don't harm children

Keep your enemies close to your heart

Keep those of whom I care far away and shunned

Fight ancient spawn at every turn

Don't show weaknesses to be exploited

Keep my identity and person hidden from even the closest of friends

And leave the world better than when I entered it

Strengths: (What they’re good at, things that make them better at fighting. No fear of heights, hard head, good balance.) Fighting-wise, few men would seem to surpass Al. His attacks are quick and decisive, parries flawless. Usually he seems to sport a single sword, though a dagger is often hanging from his belt, as well as a bow, in case either would be needed. He's quick on his feet, and aware beyond reason of the environment in which he moves and fights. All in all, few mundane weapons would be able to best Al, unless a Master was on the other end.

Weaknesses: (Things that throw them off. Smells that make them sick, sensitivity to light, things they are weak to, weapons they can’t defend against well.) First of all, Al will never kill a woman, nor fight them. If at a confrontation where he'd have to fight a woman or lose his life, he'd go all-in ensuring not to mortally wound or harm her. Furthermore, a minor deafness plagues his left ear, as well as a harmed sense of smell. He has no strategies or abilities to defend himself against magical attacks or weapons of any kind, except trying hard not to get hit.

Weapons: (What they are, proficiency, how long they’ve used them, number, wear and tear, current state, clean?, well used?, favorites?)

Habits: (Rituals before an attack, habits, flick of a wrist after a strike, crossing blades to show dominance, particular stances they take, trophies they take.)
