Diary, page 2

As I stepped inside the door of my home I saw everything where I had left it, covered with a thick layer of dust and closed the door behind me.

Pulling aside the thick curtains to let the last sunrays shine into the room before the night came and lit a candle.

I saw a note on the table next to me, I knew it was not there when I left the house. That too, was covered with dust. From my sister. Reading it made me smile and laugh for myself as I imagined my sister scolding me as the words was just that, a written note from a worried sister who wanted to know where I was.

I took care of the cleaning as the dust made me cough as I moved through it and straight after I fell into the bed, sleeping before my head hit the pillow.

This morning I woke up with the sun shining straight at my face, realising I fell asleep with my dress that was dirty from the cleaning yesterday.

Changed clothes, washed myself from the dirt and headed to town as I needed to buy some food.

I found myself just wandering aimlessly in town instead of buying anything and ended up inside the Pony, of all the places.

As I entered the tavern I was hit with the smell of beverage, pipe weed and the smell of a fire burning in the open fireplace. Not to mention the horrible sound of a person who could not play the instrument properly, the usual for this place.

I was already there so I could just as well eat and got myself something to eat and drink before heading into one of the backrooms for some peace while I ate.

I had yet not seen any familiar faces, though I would guess that was understandable as I had yet not been back in town for so long.

Not long after, I met a familiar face, a very familiar face, made me smile. Though at first I had to stop myself and eye him, he looked different. The looks on him told me he had been away for a long time yet I did not wish to pry and did not ask about it. His had grown a beard, something he never really wanted to have so by just looking at him I knew it had been a long time since he last was in town as well.

We talked, about our journeys, what had been going on lately and how we were doing. Even if this too, was not a very deep conversation as neither of us ever pry into the others business unless needed.

I was happy to see him, I am happy to see him again. Been so long and I never even gave him a hint of where I was headed.

We split up again as he had things to do, but not before we had given eachother a hug and kiss.

I promised I would go and meet him later, that is now...
