This week I have chosen to be some days away from Langdell. I have to visit the markets in Combe. I heard there will be traders arriving from Southern lands. They will pass through Combe with their Caravans with their wares. Hopefully I find fabrics and threads, with a good price and good quality. I have a lot of orders, and my focus is to make armour and finer clothes with good quality at low cost, this to care for the best income possible. Besides I will go to Combe for other reasons as well. I will visit my family, or rather Drimmeth's family. I have claimed them as my own family though, as I love and care for them very much. Especially Rose, that has been like a mother to me.
She is getting old, but she still loves to hear my tales from my journeys around Eriador. and when I play for her, she smiles and tears often appear in her eyes.
I love Combe, is not much visited, except the days when there are Markets, and people come from far away to trade their wares.
Myself I have made some sturdy armour, I hope I manage to trade it or sell them, or even better get some beautiful fabrics for it in return.
I have asked a friendly person called Erihael to help me. He knows my sister Drimmeth, and he has been very friendly and has complimented my music a lot. I asked him nicely if he could carry my supplies and my belongings to the market, as I could not do it alone. It is not to heavy, but there are items that need to be carried carefully.
Welin and Drimmeth is out of town, so were The Shades, (my musical friends), so out of dire need I asked him. I hope it was not to rude of me....
Erihael was very kind and offered himself to help me. We chose to walk, and the little road to Combe, the road did not appear to be as long as I thought. It was a nice walk, and we talked about music and the beautiful environments around Bree.
In Combe, I had to wait before I started to do my work because of some preparations, besides the foreign traders from south in their Caravan was not arrived yet. I then decided to show Erihael where I was born and where I grew up. The Pinegrove farm is quite impressive itself, but the little house my father and I used to live in seemed so little next to the main house.
It was sad to see the old, little house, it was locked and with drawn down with blue, dusty curtains. You could tell no one has been there for ages. I suddenly were lost in thoughts, and images of myself as a happy little girl and father playing music and singing appeared in my mind and faintly disappeared.
The mainhouse, the big wood-house where Rose Pinegrove still lives was a big contrast to the little one. Atleast it was good to see people ran around with their daily duties around the mainhouse.
I told Erihael briefly about the farm and my childhood. I think he was surprised that I was from this farm, and he told me I was lucky to be raised by such good people, not caring about that I was their real daughter.
In return he told me about himself, it really made huge impression on me, he has experienced events in life that make my own bleach in comparison. It strucked me how unselfish he seems to be, and his goal in life is to help others. No wonder he wanted to help me..
Oh well... I had better go to work again.....cannot write in my diary all day..
I think I will play a few songs tonight in the Inn at Combe.. Need to test a few new tunes..
