The Journey to the Ford

It was a joyous sight to see my friends nay Brothers and Sisters! of the Watch, gathering with haste we convened on the edge of the Lonelands in a discreet but
not hidden place. Aearandir and Aearlinn had already made a temporary camp with greetings exchanged it was not long before Hirgonui arrived with several
others.. It seems a good while since I had seen so many of us together in one place!

There was a great deal of excitement and optimism, a recent gathering of Eldar from many kins confirmed we were not prepared to remain hidden. Therefore!
Curugirion informed us, we will travel in plain sight perhaps the sight of our company will give hope to all whom see us, either way our presence shall be ever
more visible.

Our destination this day.. the Brunien Ford..

The Sky was kind and the winds favourable as we made haste, the long roads of the Lonelands soon passed without incident, the company remaining in line as we
rode at speed.

Crossing the final bridge before the Trollshaws we braced ourselves a little more.. the sun was setting.. this place has its name for a good reason.

Aearandir who led our column motioned for us to ride at an easy pace, no words exchange but the nods and training communicated the need to be ready. We had a
guest with us, her name Irestel, a well spoken Eldar from the Misty mountains. Her safety was an immediate concern.

As we climbed one of the may inclines on the road we happened upon welcome sight. Another Eldar, a warrior whom seemed surprised and also very happy to see us.
Cirdamir introduced himself and while quick pleasantries were exchanged I rode to the brow of the hill to keep forward watch. To our delight Cirdamir joined us
as we headed further towards High moor along the now dark road of the Trollshaws.

Aearandir quickly and quietly signalled for the Herth to halt.. quickly dismounting he pointed.. nodding I joined him as we moved ahead on foot quickly.. a
lumbering troll brazenly ambling up the road away from us. Its pace soon quicken as our javelins struck its back, a roar of anger and pain as it thundered
towards us.. our shields locked together spears ready.. its fist crashed into our wall.. knocking us back but we remained firm.. several quick blows and the
beast began to stagger.. swinging around behind the creature Aearandir committed the final blow.. a deep groan escaped the troll as it collapsed.. no more shall
it walk this road.

Moving ahead a little further yet another troll.. its demise came as swiftly as the first..

Then there was quiet.. nodding to one another we returned to the Company, all was clear for now.. but our pace remained slow and cautious.. Aearandir and
myself went a small distance ahead.. Twas not long however before another beast appeared.. yet another troll! it approached the rear of our column.. its fate
like the rest.. was swift and without mercy.. Cirdamir's sword was most welcome this night!

Again there was quiet.. and then the view of the Ford of Bruinen came into sight.. its water glistening in the moonlight..

Setting up camp we gathered in peace and in rest.. Durthand graced us with her Harp as we all shared good company.
