Dreams and Tales of the Mind - A Confrontation with Vardarianna

As Daerundros rests her mind while the Company of Five was still dwelling by Delossad, she falls into a dream which could perhaps forebode a confrontation between her and Vardarianna.

"Vardarianna... A word please." Daerundros heard herself saying as Vardarianna bathed in the pond. Curious, the maiden from Gondor went to the bush to change herself, before Daerundros beckoned her to follow. They went beneath the shade of a rather large tree, a good distance, yet still in plain sight, away from the others.
"Vardarianna... I know you hate and despise me." Daerundros said calmly. She watched as Vardarianna's eyes widened in surprise, before they narrowed.
"Yes..." She admitted, "I do... what does it interest you?"
"Of course it interests me for I wish for this 'Makeshift' rivalry of yours to stop." Daerundros looked at Vardarianna, who gasped.
"She is mine!" She declared, and Daerundros held her lip to her mouth, cautioining Vardarianna to keep quiet.
"I know that." Daerundros snapped back, "And I fully acknowledge that. I find it silly that you perceive me as a rival -- Do not even think of trying that." Daerundros glared as Vardarianna's hand twitched towards her daggers. Vardarianna sighed, before gazing at Daerundros fiercely.
"How honest are you?" She eyed Daerundros suspiciously.
"As honest as I can be." Daerundros calmly said, "Minyelaírë is yours and yours alone. I am merely her best friend and sworn sister."
Vardarianna relaxed slightly, though she still had that cloud of suspicion on her face.
"Are you sure?" She asked me, more curious than suspicious.
"A hundred percent sure." Daerundros smiled, "Oh... and of that scar. Do not think too much of it."
Vardarianna now looked at me with bewilderment, "How come?"
"See my hair." Daerundros gestured at her hair, "It was cut by an orc while I was still ninety-six years of age and scouting the Trollshaws."
Vardarianna nodded, before Daerundros went on, "I can sympathise with your pain. I was full of anguish when I saw my reflection in the Bruinen for the first time after that foul thing cut it. I dreaded my parents' reactions."
Daerundros patted Vardarianna's shoulder, "You should stop worrying about the Scar. After all, Minyelaírë loves you for who you truly are, not your looks."
And with these words, Daerundros briefly touched the scar on Vardarianna's cheek before leaving her standing there in awe, as she moved back to join Edstan's and Arivien's conversation.
