The ((unfinished)) diary of Ithilwien - June 5th

((First of all, this is posted so late because I never had time to finish it and then had no access to the computer it was saved on for two weeks. And second, it's now too long ago for me to remember enough to finish it. Hence does it just cut off at the end.))

[Between this page and the previous it can clearly be seen that a page had been ripped off]

I know people say life can take strange and unexpected turns, but never did I expect anything even near to the events I've gone through today.
Starting off I found traces of Kelinor in the house and knew he was back. He wasn't in the house though, so I put my uniform on and went to search Bree in hope of finding him. And I did, in the back of the Prancing Pony, fighting with Craign and some other men. As he saw me he just broke the fight, or perhaps it was just an argument, and brought me into another room. He seemed serious and as soon as he started speaking I got uneasy and nervous, glad to have the mask and uniform covering my insecurity, as he told me he had recieved information that I had been seen spending time with Craign, that I had been seen entering Loors house after he left and that he knew someone had leaked valuable information. It didn't take me long to lie, by reflex, and tell him I had been to the house searching for him and talked to Craign in order to secure my brothers safety. Both those things were part true, but of course not the whole truth... But somehow, in the middle of my acting, his words got to me and I snapped, rushing out of the room. He came after me and grabbed my arm tightly. I struggled to get away hearing him speak to me, telling me that if I ever threatened the future of the Legion he would take my life, and then he let go and walked away. I fell uncontrollably and landed on my elbow with a strong hit, finding that it had made a rather deep mark. I got up quickly and went to clean it, getting approached my an armored man as I did so. To my great surprise he seemed concerned about me, despite the fact that I was wearing the Legion uniform with mask and all. I went into the back to take better care of the wound and he decided to follow, staying there speaking to me for a while. His name was Esfin, I was told, and after some time it appeared that he was one of Craigns men. Despite being in uniform I ended up showing my face to him, taking my mask off to use part of it to wrap my elbow. He didn't seem as a threat, in any way, and I figured that my standing within the Legion and my trust with Kelinor was too broken to be healed anyhow.
After some time Lasdor entered the room, apparently after eavesdropping a bit from outside. We spoke for a while until he seemed to get annoyed that I didn't agree with him, then he left, and as he did I decided to do the same.

Walking down the streets of Bree on my way to the stable I then passed Kelinor. "Put your mask on" was the first thing he said. This bothered me, and I just stopped, pointing my my elbow and said that I had to take care of myself using something. He took me aside, off the street, and seemed to want to talk. I think he wanted to apologize, but we got interrupted as Kazy and some man passed. They then left, to eventually pass along with many more men. Craign was with them, tied to someone's horse, and at the very back of the group I recognized Esfin despite being in full armour. Kelinor ran forth to join the men at the front but I stayed back, keeping near Kazy and the same man from before. Honestly, she seems pleasant enough, I do realize that now, but I still fear that she may be a horribly corruptive woman.
As we walked in the direction of Combe I was very unsure what was happening, not sure what was being said or where we were going. Reaching Combe we all ended up stood outside a building. Craign, Kelinor and some others went inside and a man stayed to guard and make sure the rest of us couldn't enter. Eventually the guard went inside though, as did the rest of is.
Inside Craign had been cornered, Kelinor and some others around him. What I at first thought would be something turning against Kelinor appeared to be completely against Craign. I wanted to act, but I didn't dare to and I figured if I did nothing I would remain as neutral as possible. So, to be honest, I did my best to ignore what was happening around me. Eventually one of the men, I believe his name was Danthire, dragged Craign outside to take him away against Kelinors loud protest. The man who had been guarding the door had been injured and I went to help him with easy success. I then looked around properly for the first time, finding that Kelinor had left the building. I went outside and found Esfin with some others, including Kazy and the man who was with him. We talked for a while, about what had happened, and to my great relief it seemed people had a very positve look on me despite my uniform. The man who was with Kazy complimented me twice, saying I spoke wisely. I believe the first time it was because I said far too many think they have the right to decide who is to live and who is to die, and the second for saying that there was no point in dwelling in the past actions of Loor Turindriel, as he is dead and whatever he did cannot be changed.
As Kelinor rejoined us it seemed he only wished to argue with the two men of the Sunset Knights who were there, Esfin and another man, so I pulled him away. I remember I heard one of them screaming after us as we left, attempting to humiliate Kelinor by saying he was hiding behind an elf. But I made sure we kept walking, stopping after a while to talk. He apologized, in his own not very straight way, for threatening me earlier and somehow our conversation took a turn and at the end of it we had decided to leave. Where we did not know, but we eventually settled for the east.
