Lughnasadh


The harvest festival Lughnasadh is named for the god Lugh Lámhfhada. Celebrations include ceremonies, athletic contests, horse racing, feasting, matchmaking, and trading. Rites include an offering of the First Fruits, a feast of the new food, the sacrifice of a bull, and a ritual dance-play.
