Dear fellow merchants of Bree-land,
I, Frimsi Gembeard, should like to present a most exciting and likely very profitable opportunity that has been provided to us! A certain Enid Nettlesting, the bold leader of the League of the Axe at the Trader's Wharf, has approached me with an offer. She should like to sell to us lumber and iron ore that has been harvested by her esteemed organization in the Wildwood, so that we may use these much needed supplies in our town's rebuilding efforts throughout Bree-land after the late war. Of course these much needed supplies would be paid for by the town treasury, as they shall be used to secure and restore our trade interests throughout Bree-land to the benefit of us all!
But there is one problem, one that can be quickly resolved with negotiation and diplomacy. I have seen the amounts of raw materials Enid Nettlesting intends to sell, and regrettably I have to say they are not nearly enough to meet our demands. If Enid Nettlesting truly wants to help with our rebuilding efforts, which I am sure she does, she is going to need to rapidly increase production! And I know just the way she can do that! Our dear Enid Nettlesting has taken it upon herself to "protect" the Wildwood. A most honourable intention to be sure! But not exactly a profitable one. So I would like to propose a solution that is both honourable and profitable! I say we accept her deal but on the condition she removes certain "environmental protections" so the talented workers of the League of the Axe can really get to work in helping us rebuild Bree-land by increasing production! None can deny that the people of Bree-land need raw materials to rebuild their homes and their lives. And I for one think Enid Nettlesting can help them and get herself and her colleagues quite rich in the process too! All she has to do is shift her priorities from protecting forests to protecting people.
Yours Truly,
Frimsi Gembeard
