A Gathering in the Great Hall

The Warband gathered at the Great Hall in Imladris where Elisbeth welcomed everyone, and Khalis noted faces old and new as he looked around the company, including that of Galrandir, recently returned to the Warband. Elisbeth as the Tur of the Warband spoke first, she spoke about Pelaphor who had striven hard since joining the ranks of the new swords, or as they are known in Sindaran as the Neth Megil. As such it was deemed time to assign him his quest to prove himself eligible to take the age old Oath to the Warband and Imladris.

With his task given Elisbeth turned now to Bishrodir, the proud man of Gondor. Since joining the ranks of the Chosen he had shown total selfless devotion to the Warband and had shown his own self discipline in the mastery of his own skills. The others in the Warband always knew they could rely upon the shield and sword of the Gondorian to be steadfast in battle. As such the Cauns of the Warband have had their eyes on Bishrodir for some time with regards to him joining the Shining Warriors.

Elisbeth with a bright smile upon her face now informed Bishrodir that he has been called up to take the Quest that will enable him to swear the Oath of the Shining Warriors. As with all things he accepted the challenge with his usual nature. Khalis was pleased to see the way in which the man from Gondor always conducted himself, he was indeed a credit to the Warband. Hopefully soon he will be the third man to take the Oath and perhaps even become one of the Warders of Imladris.

The healer Irulian was presented with attire fashioned from the weaves woven in Lothlorien which should serve her well in the future. Elisbeth had also secured for her a new foci, a runestone which had been reforged in Imladris and which was strongly tied to the elements. All these gifts were given as part of the promise the Warband makes to all those who take the Oath. The Warband will see them equipped to the best of their ability, for the Warband was only as strong as its weakest link. Thus if all stand strong they shall not fail.

Khalis had noted a bond beginning to form between the two men from Gondor, Bishrodir and Pelaphor. It is such bonds that make the Warband strong, but he also had concerns for Nenloth for she had become more remote of late spending less time with those she knew in the Warband and more time with others. His thoughts turned to Caleniel for a moment, she was as always listening and watching to what was transpiring. She like Khalis and Teremonth was a Warden, she had shown she had the heart to stand at the front in the shield line alongside the other more experienced warriors. Khalis hoped that in time she will be an example to those that come after.

Elisbeth then went on to speak of the relic which the Warband had been following since it was taken from Annuminas. All accurate traces of the Warband had faded leaving only rumours and speculation whether it was taken Northward or Eastward. It was at this stage that Teremonth volunteered to lead a party Northward into the dark towers that stood watch over northern Angmar, namely Carn Dum. Teremonth as always was keen to be of use to those he called brethren and Khalis truly believed this young Elf has been blessed with a drive not unlike that which has sometimes been seen in those of menkind. Perhaps it’s the love of the Lady Reiven which is imbueing him a drive to make all middle earth a better place for those who will come after us. In truth Khalis wasn’t sure, but he was pleased to see the spirit of Teremonth rise to the challenges that present themselves. It did seem the two were destined to be together.

There was much talk between the members which meant that the gathering went on longer than planned, Khalis was pleased to see the members get on so well with each other. Even the small differences between Eireden, the man from Rohan, and the Gondorians will drive them to better themselves in the future. The Warband is indeed lucky to have such steadfast and loyal members in its ranks.
