'Thrimidgeday' - A Story-based RP Celebration at Buckland Faire

Spring is here! In the Hobbit-country of Buckland, mid-spring is marked by Thrimidgeday, a special feast-day of merriment in celebration of the season’s bounty. Every Thrimidgeday, the Bucklanders gather at the faire-grounds, where music is played, beer is poured, morrises are danced, markets are opened, and a Thrimidge Queen and King are crowned.

This year’s Thrimidgeday proves to be extra special, as guests from across Middle-earth travel to Buckland to participate in the festivities on the invitation of Merry Brandybuck the Magnificent. On behalf of the worthies of Men, Shire-folk, Elves, and Dwarves, these guests intend to use the holiday as an opportunity to bequeath troves of lore and learning to Merry and his newly refurbished Brandy Hall Archives… and, if they’re lucky, share in a drink and dance or two. Talk in Buckland is aflurry with excitement and not a little anxiety; nonetheless, all Bucklanders agree that this will surely be a Thrimidgeday to remember!

Event details:

Come join us on Meriadoc at May 25th, 20251:00 PM Server-time at Buckland Faire (32.5S, 62.6W) for a story-based roleplay event set in the post-war period celebrating spring, the RP community of Meriadoc’s completion of the “Refurbishing the Brandy Hall Archives” server-wide storyline, and the reveal of Project Kalimac: a new resource for the RP community! This event will include DMd narratives; a tale-telling competition; gifts; music; special guest appearances; and, of course, the opportunity for some great and immersive RP… and so much more!

Furthermore, considering the Thrimidgeday event is intended to reveal a new resource for Meriadoc’s RP community, this event is heavily reliant on community participation. This event offers many opportunities in the form of unique roles for community members who wish to involve their characters in this event in a special way. We truly need the community’s help to make this event as immersive and successful as possible, so join us and be a part of Meriadoc RP history! For more information, see our roster of unique roles, including opportunities to play merchants, tale-tellers, emissaries, bounders, and more, on the "Roleplayers of LOTRO" Discord server.

Finally, please note that this is an entirely in-character event. If you attend this event, you must engage with narrative situations and respond to other characters as your character would via the /say or /e channels. Players who fail to observe this guideline may be asked to leave.

If you have any question about this event or interest in any of its roles, feel free to shoot me a direct message here, or contact myself, Angrinc, or Elegost on the "Roleplayers of LOTRO" DIscord!

We look forward to seeing you there!
