My Lord, King Elessar,
Please be aware I have finally made some progress of the search for the killer of your friend.
As you are likely aware, I have been in Eridor, Bree to be exact and have tracked down this kin she has founded, to the neighborhood of Wyrmlin. At that house, a fellow, a farmer by the look, stated the kin in question was indeed the Company of the East Road.
This was also confirmed today after I and a full contingent of rangers, met with four people from said kin, who were searching for lumber in Esteldin. Rangers had alerted Daervunn of their presence in Trestlebridge, and he alerted me via raven as they arrived in Esteldin,. so I made my way quickly to them.
As luck would have it, a minstrel, by the name of Guriwen Luthier came out and we questioned her about their kin’s leader, and their purpose and knowledge of their leaders’ actions. We also obtained a list of the persons within the kin who are aware of the leaders actions. I presume there may be more.
They are Mowine Stumblefoot, a known assassin and accomplice to the leader Deorla who according to the minstrel claim to have murdered hundreds for the money. The aforementioned minstrel, Guriwen Luthier of Dale. A Gondorian Guardian in his mid 20’s whom she states is Alairif Nordcoll, as well as an Elf, by the name of Naridalis and a dwarf named Raspi, neither of whom she is well acquainted. The only others are a young woman of Bree, Tivlyn, a friend and confidant of Guriwen. Lastly, a young woman presumably someone within the kin who was to help them secure lumber and who Guriwen had asked to help, by the name of Ness.
As I said Guriwen was quite upset about them and stated the leader, Deorla and another Mowine, had bragged to her about the killing of not only your friend sire, but of others, they had what the called contracts for. The blonde minstrel stated she had already attempted to elicit help from kin of rangers, the Silent Pilgrims and had asked them for help to bring these assassins to justice. Once questioned and having her full cooperation, we sent her back to Bree.
I will note here that armor she wears is your own scout’s armor, so her testimony was beyond reproach, since she does seem to be on retainer for you, she stated in service in Umbar currently.
I approached the three remaining kin members within the Woodworkers guild and, questioned them each. They professed innocence and only incidental knowledge of the illicit doings of their kin leader and her accomplice. The young man was aware of the wanted poster, and was struggling to determine how to proceed. Both he and the minstrel, Guriwen, seem to be close and he was concerned regarding her safety. The elf, was more of a patient mindset looking for clear answers and the truth. The details, I am not within my power to provide of course. The last a dwarven minstrel, blustered and protested, claiming they were charges, and nothing had even come of them, so how could this be true. As a minstrel one suspects a gift of speech and this one, seemed quite unwilling to acknowledge that we are corrected in out plan of arresting this murderer and seeing that she plays for her crimes. He did often claim for us to write to the kin for attention to this matter, a ridiculous thought after this amount of time.
I, and some other rangers I know here, including Delaney Campbell will be watching. I will continue to press your hand until she is captured again.
Please let me know how to proceed, My Lord Sire, and I will gladly be at your right hand.
Kind regards to you, your Lady wife and the people on your court,
Tornimard Whisperstep
