Chapter 4 From Hinter to Yondershire
After a few days of Rest in Bree I decided to go Home to By-water in Hobbiton the Shire.
I packed my pack, and strapped Clover’s Saddle.
We head West out of the Gate towards the Shire.
On Arrival in By-water Hobbiton I spoke to the postman about daily news and what’s happened in the days I left,. Not much going on besides lots of work around the Farms and Markets, but there are some problems with disappearing mail and parcels.
I decided to get word from Master Proudfoot to get at the bottom of this mystery
After some long talk and investigation it seems that letters did disappear on a route to Nobottle in the Yonder- Shire.
Hm.. very strange, and mischief must be at play.
Master proudfoot came up with a plan to walk one of those routes were parcels and letters seems to be temper with, a route from Needle-Holle to Nobottle.
At arrivel at the Gate of Needleholle I met Sienna once again, she was doing a bit of fishing.
*I wonder if she caught fish, and not Frogs in those mucky marsh*
I told her a bit about what’s going on with the problems at the post-office, and Sienna wanted to go along with me, as she also was waiting for a new Rod that somehow was misplaced and she got a broom instead.
After leaving Needleholle we got to the border towards yondershire we met a rude Bounder.
He demands inspecting our bags, but lucky Earl grey the hound that was Sienna’s companion was with our company. He gave the lad a good scare and he run of with Haste.
I did think Earl Grey only wanted to play though, with the bounder because he jumped up and licked his face.. but the Bounder Screams in a Yeep “No.. do no eat me, I only take orders from the Sherrif to inspect mail and parcels” he said.
We continued on, and we needed a rest as did our Ponies . So we took a stop at a inn at Nobottle.
It was very crowded inside, but we find a place to sit next to a Hobbit studying and reading a book.
We introduced us, and his name was Hubo.
This lad is a adventure as well and he told us a bit about his book collection and Ruins around the Shire. After we ate and drink together , he invited us to his house.
The lad has more books then the Librarian has in Tuckborough, very interesting books I found about mixing breeds of hops and grains to get Pipeweed flavours I did not know.
Sienna was reading some books about Fishing and cooking, Earl Grey was chewing on a old book about * the art of sausages *
We had some tea with Hobo and he asked us to inspect a old Ruin to make some drawings and get some Relics for his study. We accepted the offer as we liked to go out and have a bit of a adventure.
Traveling to those Ruins was pleasant the sightseeing was nice around these parts. Lots of meadows and hills and old forest all around us.
We got a bit tiered with all that walking ( we did decided to stable our ponies before heading out at Noobottle)
So our feet needs some rest, luck for us we arrived at Long Cleeve a small Hobbit settlement in the woods that looked out to the Ruins we wanted to inspect.
I got a big Scare as I heard a loud Cough, near a inn the Roaring Bull.
“more of a coughing Bull,” I said.
But it was not a bull but a turtle that did make that sound.
Earl was a bit to interested in that little critter, and he took it in his jaws. The little fella hid his head in his shell.
“put it Down” Sienna demanded. And she gave Earl Grey a Stare. ( even I got scared off that look) so Earl dropped it gentle at once.
We had inside the Inn, for a rest and rented some rooms, adventure will come in the morning and we need to be fresh in the morning.
What will we find in those ruins, will we also find our about the mail problem, and those Bounder hobbits making mischief in the Yonder?.......
